Is the resurgence in defense and running game in CFB this year due to defenses figuring out these explosive offenses or there being so few elite QBs this year?

The offenses have been figured out. Tempo isn't a thing anymore and there aren't elite QBs. When you look at this class of QBs, it's shaky. Don't have a transcendental type of talent.

I think it’s due to people running these exotic 2-3 man front defenses with all those dbs out there. Arkansas and Ole Miss looked crazy as hell out there knowing the other team could gash them whenever they wanted to.

If all these teams actually go through with firing their coach, who could they hire that would improve their situation?

This might not be the year to be over emotional. You could go from having a bad season to completely sinking your program. (See Nebraska, Tennessee, and in a way Michigan)

We should have axed Coach O last year.

That's something no one ever considers. LSU is going to have it's pick of the litter, but the person should ideally be better than whom you're replacing or you'll end up with a Justin Fuente or Mike Norvell. My school doesn't have the luxury of firing a coach because of how hard it is to sell the program and recruit there. Babers may stick around another season even if Syracuse doesn't make a bowl.

LSU is going to find out how hard it is to find a good coach.

they are figuring them out

teams can play fast but that usually means at the expense of finesse

defenses also playing new packages to combat the wear and tear of nohuddle too.

makes you wonder if huddle offenses will make a resurgence as something new in the future :skip:

Our new AD seems brought Peterson to Washington (Jimbo to A&M too but that was still a power move on paper). Coached O fukked us by reverting to his bummy Ole Miss ways.

Couple of things working against us though:

No way in hell we are hiring a minority. (crazy white fans)

We've caught that Tennesse-itis where it just has to be a homerun hire anything else is :pacspit:, so it can't be someone young and hungry. (crazy white fans)

Not many people who aren't young and hungry wants to come into the SEC West and bang heads with Saban every year.

Orgeron brought home the chip and 2019 and got a fat contract with a big buy out as a reward. Turned out he was a one year wonder and he blew even more money hiring and firing assistants to steal more time than his bum ass should have got. So we got so much tied up into buyouts.

With that being said: Hugh Freeze take that offer without hesitation.

Anyone who’s read “Meat Market” knew he was fools gold and shouldn’t be the head of a football program.

its 2006 anymore

i remember when McFadden and Felix Jones in the no huddle was considered revolutionary or Tebow and Harvin

that is a cool 15 years ago, regular old west coast offense looking strong again. The mental aspect of football never left

Everything just keeps going in circles. Soon huddling will come back and everybody doing it again then they’ll switch to no huddle again and so on and so forth

@O.iatlhawksfan Know y’all can’t enjoy football Saturdays anymore, and can’t expect to compete for anything for the foreseeable future, and should probably have your program condemned, but at least you got NFL games today homie! Sundays the new Saturdays right :mjlit:

In thinking about those sorry Athens nikkas, I have to think they try to keep that RPO simple read shtick going, and I hope Tank is prepared to be more of a receiver for that. Running in the box is going to be nonexistent

I don’t see why you fire O now, unless they just looking at everyone in the SEC (that y’all play) getting better next year. Literally every team in the West and Florida should improve. Not even being sarcastic, I just wouldn’t want to throw a new HC into that
