These aren't anything new. Coaches do weekly shows at local restaurants to keep in touch with the fanbase. Dino Babers and Jim Boeheim have their weekly shows as well.

In the AP in the regular season, they were AP Preseason #1 in 2008 and they were #1 in the CFP Rankings for about two weeks in 2017.
