From what I hear the point is to get the lower tear on local broadcast because it’s still a getting on tvs (think Maryland on the dmv local cable)
And puts the bigger 11 o’clock game on fox, and the marquee on at 3:30 or medium big, then save the big dog for 7 give or take how other games are coming down the pipe at that slot so maybe swap between 3 or 7 based on games in that slot

It will raise the floor of these schools, getting them updated facilities for the lesser schools, stadium upgrades, it will bring in better staff pools, more recruiting money/staff, to the already rich, more staff for more specific things, bigger net recruiting and back door money if they will.

The funny thing is one of these lesser schools gon get ambitious and blow it on some coach with minimal gain
