He might as well go pro in something other than football. Transferred from Baylor and couldn’t get on the field; now his replacement at his old school is in the portal too. A lotta these kids/adults gonna have to toughen up and start making some grownup decisions. Transfer to a school with a good academic/alumni network and stack degrees or continue to live out their football fantasies that aren’t gonna end the way they want them to.
Yeah, honestly any transfer after your sophomore year should be viewed that way. If you can get on the field cool but go to a school with a network or a healthy degree...football is not the future for 99% of college STARTERS.

This portal season is going to be interesting for those kids looking for a big payday. Bags this year aren't that big and most schools are damn near tapped out of NIL funds.

I can’t blame these kids for transferring and trying to make something happen right now.

It’s not necessarily about the NFL. It’s about capitalizing on your short window to take advantage of any monetary opportunities that the collegiate sport can offer.

You can make real money as a college athlete right now.

Now I do agree that some of these guys need to be self aware. If you really aren’t an elite college football player and the NIL opportunities aren’t there, go to the right school for the reasons you stated.

Its VERY tough because these dudes have Kanye level of confidence and even at the lower levels its kinda what you need to even get to the league, so the same fuel needed is the thing that can blind you long term, very hard dynamic to explain but if you been around these type of athletes you will know what I mean (I dont know if you have or not, dont want to assume)..

Then add even tho everyone sees the full scholarship what many dont understand is the coaches and everyone around try to funnel these kids to really easy degrees and dont really try to set them up for success, they dont really care, they actually discourage players who might come in with aspirations of getting an engineering degree or biology for example. They wanna push you to liberal arts, criminal justice, communications, even rather you be undeclared first couple years than anything else, etc. Im sure you seen those a ton when they profile a player..
