Their only loss was a close road game vs. the only undefeated team in the country. Travis Hunter is a dog no doubt, but name recognition shouldn't be the only reason you win a Heisman...not to mention, they've given it to less deserving players ust b/c their team had a better overall record (like that p*ssy bryce young), so now that CU has been bushed for the year, and Boise will be in the playoffs, the answer is clear for me.

That "played every snap" shyt is as impressive to me as lebron's longevity stats . Same as how Barry is the GOAT RB and not Emmitt, despite emmitt having more team accolades, and records that will probably NEVER be broken

I just think that with ALL the conference champs, it won't be "mythical" anymore. shyt, at that point they can finally start handing out the NCAA plaque for it. It will also boost the mid majors knowing you can get in. Playing OOC games against the Big 4 won't have to be a cash grab anymore knowing you can still win your conference and get in. 6 at large spots remaining is still plenty too. Just say 2 extra SEC and Big 10 spots. Notre Dame can shut the fukk up, and you still have one more spot.

I'd take it a step further: take your plan but cut the field from 16 to 14 teams (top 2 get a bye). That should be 10 conference champs + 4 at large.

My personal preference is to limit the at large spots because they'll just pick up the #2, #3 and #4 teams from the SEC and B1G. It feels cheap to stack the deck. The stakes need to be higher for each team/conference...including the SEC/B1G.
