Nah, I can get 2, but 3 is getting absurd. There would be enough 1 and 2 loss teams with decent strengths of schedule to fill the 11 at large spots.

and we really don't know how conferences fare vs each other unless they play. I didn't even know the ACC had a winning records vs the SEC this season until earlier. The conferences aren't just their best teams, the rest count too.

CFP last year was different format. We had 1 loss then. We already have 2 before the SECCG. I'd rather find out how good we are now. If Texas/TAMU whoop us, do we deserve to be in the playoffs.

I guess I just look at it differently…why play the extra game just to prove a point? The goal is to be in the CFP not to prove if we belong in it or not

These big conferences should just award whoever is on top of the conference standings at the end of the season the champ. The extra game doesn't really benefit anyone and it really just hurts the loser. Also I'd prefer the CFP go to 6 or 8 teams before expanding to 16 teams

How does it hurt the loser? Didn’t the committee say they weren’t gonna dock teams if they lost in the conference championship. You really should only want to not be in it if your like Ohio state who has the 5 seed and the easiest path to the semis

What does the loser gain besides playing an extra game and attaching another loss to their record which will undoubtedly affect their seeding, if not lose a home game opportunity.

To be clear I’m not saying make the CFP just to make it. I want to win another natty, but you can’t do that if you’re not in the tournament. The goal every season is to make the CFP so you have a chance to go win a natty. The SECCG is slightly devalued now because it presents a chance for injury, another game of wear and tear and potentially a loss. None of that is worth it just to prove we belong, we’re Georgia we already know we belong

But it’s already been decided so just got to play it out and see what happens
