MLB teams should be allowed to trade draft picks.

Hell no. Do that and you have to redo the entire draft system as far as bonus pools and HS/JuCo/College Jr. draft eligibility. It's bad enough that Paul Skenes is stuck in Pittsburgh; it's a million times worse if that pick gets traded to LA/NY for "cash considerations" that go straight in Pittsburgh's owner's pockets. Or if Bryce Harper says "I'm only playing for _____ or I'm going to college" and now you're stuck getting pennies on the dollar for your pick because you can't have an open bidding war.

Baseball has the most interesting draft system by far and if anything the NBA and NFL should take notes :manny:

This dude Adolis Garcia predicted he would hit 50 HR during the 2025 season.
Such a major letdown.

I'm not sure if it's true that Texas is going to do a rebuild but Wyatt Langford posting a 4.1 fWAR in 2025 was a positive.

What Texas does need to do is find a way to move on from Marcus Semien. He's owed 72M through 2028 and he is no longer a viable full-time player.

I get the thinking but im still shocked. Our defense in the outfielder can improve a lot now and in the future and Semien isnt here for too long so he isnt exactly blocking a middle infielder.

Still makes me sad. David Stearns is clearly not afraid to ruffle feathers and shape the team into his own.

Ugh, I don't like it. This guy can't hit anymore.
As a fantasy player, I completely understand this lol but at the same time, his floor is high defensively speaking and maybe with the new hitting coach they can find something. None of the young players are blocked. They'll use him as they see fit.

It makes sense from the perspective that Jeff McNeil was one of the weaker defenders last season.
The Mets seem to be willing to live with Semien's weak bat to get his glove, though I imagine even the Mets don't keep him through the remainder of his contract. He will either get flipped eventually or outright cut.

For the Rangers, they get a solid bat alongside outfielders Wyatt Langford and Evan Carter.
Joc Pederson probably gets traded for some team that needs a platoon bat, and somebody else becomes Texas' DH.
What would be amazing is if they landed Kyle Schwarber. That COULD make the lineup just threatening enough to battle for the AL West title.

Excuse me.
I didn't notice that the Rangers 1B is currently listed as Jake Burger.

:scust:

Texas has more moves to make.
