he's won back to back Cy Youngs, shoulda been had an extension, and given the limitations the WBC already imposes on pitchers, isn't in much more danger than if he threw in Grapefruit League.

If he didn't wanna go, sucks but ok, but this is a half measure that doesn't protect against anything.
