I dont know a sports league where head to head is not supposed to matter. Before season game ND was favored and they were confident we lost everything, told them Baby Jesus was killing it in practice and he the one. We couldnt get SIngleton over Aub and Branch over UGA and Malachi was supposed to be in high school and outperformed both of them, straight Hoe'd ND first game out. Tried to explain preseason, yea Mario flawed but he always have team ready for big games, he can take an injured UO team into Columbus and smack Ohio st on they field going away but lose to a 3 win Stanford a couple weeks later.I don’t fukk with Cristobal but he’s 100% right. Miami gets zero credit for their win vs ND. Why would any team schedule them OOC if it doesn’t help you if you win and hurts you when you lose
and in all honesty I feel ND is a playoff team, they are better and more complete than say Oklahoma but the committee dont want that to be the real convo to the SEC invitational. The rules dont apply to them it seems that it does other teams. IF they make the convo ND vs. Miami, they WANT ND based on everything other than performance on field. Both teams should be in but this sport is not run by results obviously, they pick the participants and then try to make up a reason after that is not consistent across board. On July 7, 2023, Fitzgerald was suspended for two weeks by university president Michael H. Schill after an independent investigation conducted by law firm Arent Fox Schiff confirmed allegations made by a player in November 2022 that hazing, including assaults by varsity players, occurred while Fitzgerald was aware and made hand gestures that indicated that freshman players should be physically and sexually assaulted for poor performance. The sexual assaults included acts such as being dry-humped by groups of upperclassmen, being forced to enter team showers through parallel lines of spinning naked teammates to resemble a carwash, and being compelled to perform a center-to-quarterback snapping of a football while naked. The accuser said that he believed that "Everyone would just be looking at each other and be like 'bro, Fitz knows about this,' because you wouldn't take that action otherwise". Investigator Maggie Hickey, who was formerly an Illinois inspector general, stated that the Wildcat players accusations were "largely supported by evidence."[18] On July 10, 2023, Fitzgerald was fired amid the allegations.[19]
