First round was a complete joke this past year. All blowouts. That ND vs. IU game was the closest but ND was in full control that entire game.
I just mean him being a Michigan fan and watching "The Game" basically lose all of it's value.

Pre 12 team playoff, Ryan Day would have been fired after that.

Just give us the trophy now. :wow:

No benefit from being in the top 4, IMO. better to take an L or 2 during the season to regroup and make a playoff run. Get a home game for round one and establish momentum. Sitting around for 5 weeks wondering who you're going to play and not being able to actually prepare is ass. shyt sucks the momentum you built all season out.

If not for conference realignment then I might be more down for a 12-16 team playoff even though I thought 4 was perfect. Looking back at a season like 2008:

11-1 USC
12-1 Alabama
12-1 Florida
11-1 Texas
12-1 Oklahoma
11-1 Penn State
11-1 Texas Tech
10-2 Ohio State
12-0 Boise State
12-0 Utah

Yeah I would've been all in like a MF for this playoff :ohlawd:

I remember @DropTopDoc arguing against that.

There's no way he still can after last season.

Viewing numbers and me would vehemently disagree

Someone is always going to be the odd man out. Hoops has 68 teams in the playoff and teams #69 and on still bytch how they should've been in. IMO 6 or 8 is the right number but money wins out, the games will do big #'s and they'll keep expanding and never contract.
Seeding needed to be better, but blow outs usually happen early (Hawaii vs uga and fsu vs niu come to mind)
when they seeded it according to the new system you had better match ups, so we wait and see

viewership =/= meaningfulness

game will be watched regardless, even if it's just by the two fanbases. In any other year besides last, that same outcome would've effectively ended OSU's season.

Tell me another year where Michigan beat Ohio State and Ohio State played for a national championship let alone won it :stopitslime:
Could have happened in 21 when we played uga in the playoffs. Now you tell me a time when usc made any variation of the college football playoffs? :brutus:
