Results on the field don't matter, sir. Where do you think you are? Even if you lose, the results don't matter b/c the eye test tells us that hypothetically speaking a team would beat a team they lost to if they were to play AFTER they lost. Results only matter if you're in the Southeastern conference and it can be counted as a "good win" .
Otherwise, we can just make up the rules as we go along Tighten up
