Mister Terrific
It’s in the name
Because Harbaugh directly challenged the NCAA and SEC on NIL and satellite camps and the rest of the Big Ten was content with being Ohio States bottom bytch until Michigan upset the natural order. Their coaches and fans couldn’t figure out that Michigan outworked them so they made up sign stealing. The NCAA was pissed because Harbaugh was in the media advocating for paying players. They were already after him in 2020 for recruiting violations like having recruits on zoom calls during the COVID period. If it's legal then why all the show causes, suspensions, largest financial penalty of all time?
And somehow coaching mastermind Mel Tucker went 2-1 against the cheaters...reallystat
Penalties you say? Show cause on coaches who were never coming back to college anyway. Early season suspension. Meaningless financial penalty in the era of NIL. I.e. unlike state we aren’t broke.
All face saving by the NCAA. If sign stealing was as meaningful as the allegations the NCAA would’ve took away Michigan’s wins and titles. The NCAA would’ve took away our scholarships and any player recruited during that period. Moore would be fired and banned from coaching.
But they didn’t because 1. A guy with a cell phone camera isn’t getting anything the all-22 isn’t getting. 2. There is nothing in the ncaa rule book that explicitly bans it because again, it’s meaningless.
