Don't know who we'll hire, but it will probably be somebody like the Summerall dude in Louisiana.
Won't be a home run, but Hugh is done as a big school coach.
That would be a home run hire for Auburn. Not many good realistic options for y’all with all the openings.

Yeah I’m like 90% sure it’ll be Sumrall unless he fails the booster test. Anyone but Franklin and Fisher I hope

Look at the coaches. That explains everything.

As long as the boosters are allowed to control who coaches at Auburn instead of just getting a good coach that can run the program it will continue.
I guess some people feel like you can just completely fall off after a half decade of bad results. I can’t really argue with that stance if that’s one someone has. I think it’s clearly been an upper echelon program if your cutoff begins at the 80s, 90s, and the 2000s imo. Everyone had a SEC CG up until Harsin. With the nattys they awarded, I guess everyone’s had a natty contending season in that same stretch.

I do think you can’t go an entire decade without contending. That’s really what Nebraska and Tennessee status looks like…people throw that around loosely

Last AP poll to talk about for the year

Texas jumps 7 slots after barely beating an overrated Vandy team at home.

Bama, IU, A&M & OSU have the most impressive wins this year (in this order). OSU clearly is the best team; they're going to be undefeated going into the playoffs, but they have to figure out how to hold that edge with a long layoff.

OSU vs. IU going to be a dope gauge of how real the Cigs are.

I don’t understand.

have you enjoyed B1G football this year?
I think part of it is that the conference is top heavey, OSU and IU are tiers above, thus blowing teams out. There's a lot of mid (Iowa, USC, Mich, to a lesser extent, Nebraska). Then the rest of the conference beyond Oregon is pretty awful.

I'm not a rah rah conference pride type...I've always enjoyed SEC football.

Oregon @ Iowa
Iowa vs USC
Should both be interesting games...If Iowa was in the SEC they'd be top 15 rn

Can someone explain the Matt Rhule extensio?

1st and foremost, Nebraska is cursed. Secondly, they felt PSU sniffing around and didn't want Rhule to get snatched up, whether he deserved to or not. Third, that loss yesterday was b/c their QB got injured. The back-up couldn't do shyt and the defense got tired.
