Anything since emancipation is considered ADOS.

Further more, if your ancestors participated in southern apartheid ( until 1964) I consider thar ADOS as well
Just confirming. My dad's people are from the Carolina's and I'm trying to get more links to them.

In my eyes southern ( overall American) apartheid never ended but you are not restricted on what you do day to day.

You can vote but it don't matter.

Isn't he Caribbean?

“Born Louis Eugene Walcott on May 11, 1933, in the Bronx, New York, he was raised in Boston by his mother, Sarah Mae Manning, an immigrant from St. Kitts and Nevis. His biological father was Jamaican-born Percival Clark. However, he was named after a man with whom his mother was involved after a separation from Clark.”

So that doesn't make him ADOS right?

Here is a bit of ADOS history not commonly known. The was an all Black settlement/township in New Mexico called Blackdom.

Blackdom, New Mexico - Wikipedia

The history of why the town was eventually abandoned is still a bit shady. They say the water table dropped which made farming and ranching impossible was the main reason. It is also interesting that oil was discovered on that land. Some families in the deep south may still be receiving payments from it.
