That Order of The Dragon medal was a beast 
copped. not ready to run wit yall elite muthafukkers yet though.....gonna run some TDM and get a feel for it. which setup would you recommend a newb to start with.

You should probably start assault. The first weapon you get is decent enough. If you run medic unlock the M1907 sl sweeper and you should be fine.
I feel as like Assault is weak compared to the other classes. I have been using Support + Ammo Crate + Limpet Charge gets the job done on most artillery... And you can engage people from further distances with the LMGs compared to the SMGs.

Played a match where the other team was camping inside that room spamming gas nades and locking the doors. Once we blew them shyts off I swear like 4 dudes ran in there blind with Gas masks on bayonet charging

It's all preference. I think assault has the easiest weapons to control for a newb. I agree Support can engage at further distance but the bullet spread isn't as tight. What gun do you use in support? I use the one that comes unlocked from jump. I'm stingy with my war bonds. how'd you blow 'em off? I used AT grenades and they ain't get the job done. limpet charges?
Not even sure what was used, but it was just on 1 side. It was the middle door that was blown.
