You can use the opening cinematic as a clue to what you'll be doing.
Listening to the explanation of the 3 locations, you'll hear narrator either explaining that "we will bunker down and defend here, if we get pushed back, we can hold up at this location" - That's a hint that you will be defense and you should be trying to defend your point and lowering enemy tickets.
If the narrator is explaining that he expects "we should be sending all our units to take over this location, when we are successful, we will continue to push the enemy back until we have captures their territory." - That's a hint that you are the attackers and you need to take over the points
It's the best mode for what is probably the closest thing to a true tug of war simulation of trench warfare.
It would have been better if it allowed the defense to push the attackers back though.

Got it last night. 1st match was conquest on Sinai Desert (LOL) we lost :/. I hate conquest solo. It feels like nothing I do matters. Did some tdm tho, that map with the huge bunker is fantastic

I ran solo for 2 matches of Conquest this morning first round when I joined they was down by a 100 we won 1000-997 I beasted that round too but wasn't in the match long enough to be 1st place I took over second round and we destroyed them in that jungle mapGot it last night. 1st match was conquest on Sinai Desert (LOL) we lost :/. With experience you can make the world of difference I'm able to takeover capture points solo, so I'll send my squad to take point say A I'll solo B and just like that we snatched two capture points back.
