Conor McGregor-Khabib Nurmagomedov is about to do over 2 million PPV buys.

boxing just has to find the one.
There can be some stars still but less and less and eventually PPV (as TV centric programming in general) disappears with the older generations who got used to watch everything in TV (not using streams and shyt...) dying out

Not a quick process but it started already

RN there's nobody in boxing who I can see becoming a huge PPV star in the US and if the chance of a new one just decreases year by year.
Boxing might have another PPV star still but only a handful before the final collapse of network PPVs imo.

well boxing needs a mainstream star regardless if PPV is around or not

the general public don't know GGG, canelo or anthony joshua like they do floyd, conor, etc.

Agree with that although I don't think the sport would die if we would only have Canelo/AJ level stars for a while, boxing draws big interest still, proofs are the huge deals recently, both DAZN and ESPN, Showtime also going strong and there are rumours Haymon has a new shyt coming up with Fox.
So I'd say that the boxing world would definitely like to have a mainstream star but it is in a good health right now too without mainstream stars and I'd think this stays the same until fans get what they want and we rather get it in these last 2 years (2017, 2018)

Boxing sucks at promoting nowadays, the top guys ain’t good at promoting theirselves like they forgetting that it’s show business. Charlos got thrusted in the spotlight by cutting up and making noise blended in with a couple highlight reel KOs. They had a little fukkery based buzz going on in the boxing industry for a minute. Now it died down a little bit. You telling me big Charlo can’t take an inbetween fight to keep his buzz going.

If AB would’ve stayed at HBO somehow he could’ve did the same shyt TCraw did but with a much larger following and do BIG numbers. AB would be a star. AB knows how to promote hisself but he just needed to be big fish small pond situation like Tcraw got.

Streaming is cool and all but boxing that only appeal to the hardcore boxing heads. If you already paying extra for Show and HBO how can boxing justify you paying for DAZN and ESPN plus. Hardcore fans are going to watch regardless. The casuals is how you rake in the bread.

Broner is a draw no matter what..whether its PBC or HBO..whatever... but his star is getting dimmer each fight because of his performances. His draw doesn't match his talent or wins and thats a problem

I was more in the line of thinking that Broner could’ve achieved what Tcraw achieved assuming Crawford would be with PBC. Undisputed 140 AB would’ve been massive for the sport of boxing. Being at top rank they would’ve been able to hide his flaws of not being a top fighter.

he's had 2 MW fights with minor fighters...we need to get him in the ring with a top contender..somebody of consequence man

Ain’t no contender willing to fight him. ATeam getting a MW title shot before him:snoop:. And he will have to wait atleast a year no matter who wins the GGG/Canelo fight. If Canelo win I highly doubt the WBC enforce that mandatory and GGG only looking for big fights.

They could’ve called up a Gabe Rosado or Curtis Stevens type. Both bring prefight fukkery/hype and they both come to fight. Better than just sitting sitting on shelf:manny:. Shidd Quillen is back from the dead he can fight him.

Mall definitely needs to stay more active. nikka is spoiling himself on the vine.
him and Crawford are too loyal for their own good

With Crawford I can understand more though cause we saw in the past what happens if you try to break from Arum but Charlo isn't with a promoter and he's not exclusively on Showtime, he could just dip to HBO and fight all them dudes in 160, he ain't getting big fights in 160 as a Showtime fighter, not even sure if his WBC mandatory position will mean anything anytime soon... we know how the WBC is when it comes to forcing mandatories for champions who are regarded more important to them.

Crawford is being treated great imo. Dude is looked at as a top 3 p4p guy and never had a 50-50 fight or faced a real threat. Plus TR made him a hometown attraction. Arum doesn't do that for everybody. Just ask the Peterson brothers. He better of staying loyal.

Mall seems like a guy that likes boxing and fighting, but he seems to be resting on his laurels right now. The internet hasn't created another Jrock for him to dragon punch yet so he prolly chilling cuz of that and being a mando.
