We were talking bout Chavez

Roach is OVERRATED af

When Garcia dropped Khan N Khan made it out the round....Roach jus stood there in silence like:dwillhuh:....didn't splash water on dude...no waving air at him....no massage.... stood there in silence for almost the whole minute:snoop:

Chavez is getting that work by Maravilla dude gives no good advice instead he talking wit Max during the round talkin bout stopping the fight:aicmon:

I always believed Roach was overrated. He never did anything in my eyes until he was lucky enough to find Pac. Pac's fighting style and punching power is what made him, not Roach. Although over there years Pac has made slight improvements...but when Roach got him he was like 22 or something right? When someone has been training you for 12 years starting with you at an early age, he should be a lot better technically. This is why Marquez always goes in on him because he is one of the few fighters who is better technically that can match up with him athletically. Cotto very technically but athletically doesnt match up.

Article Link - Andre Ward Eyes Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Showdown
This is a legal waiver. By copying and using the material from this article, you agree to give full credit to BoxingScene.com or provide a link to the original article.

Andre “S.O.G.” Ward was in attendance at the Brandon Rios-Mike Alvarado II bout and was in amazement at the fight both combatants produced. Ward recently underwent shoulder surgery but has been back in the gym for a few weeks now and is looking to get back in the ring soon.

When Ward spoke to BoxingScene he informed that while he’s not chasing any opponent in particular, one name he would like to face next is Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

“I’m in a position where I don’t feel like I got to chase anybody. I’m open to any opportunity that’s the right opportunity. We want the biggest fights and we want a PPV type of situation and I think we’re right around the corner from getting that. But I will throw one name out: [Julio Cesar] Chavez Jr” Ward revealed to BoxingScene.

“That’s the fight that fans want to see. I don’t necessarily think they want to see him and [Sergio] Martinez again. It was a great 12th round but it’s pretty much going to be the same fight. [Chavez is] busting out of 160, he’s coming to 168. If he comes to 168 then I think we should see each other. I think that’s a mega, mega fight the fans will want to see.”

Ward has dominated the Super Middleweight division for some time now and some feel he may have run out of opponents to face given he’s beaten most of them already. The Chavez fight would give Ward a new opponent and the big name he’s been looking for to cross over to the mainstream market.

Even though Chavez is coming off a loss against Sergio Martinez, Ward still believes it would not be an easy fight for him.

“I think I get the tag as being a boxer and being cute but I fight. I’m very physical inside. I don’t run. But I’m going to tell you this: Chavez Jr is not an easy fight. A lot of people say [it’s easy] but that’s not an easy fight. He’s a big kid, he’s a strong kid and he can punch. And just like tonight’s [fight], he’s doing a lot of things on the inside that a lot of people don’t give him credit for. Chavez Jr is not an easy fight for me” said the Oakland native.

Ward is already back in the gym and says he feels great so far. He will be looking to secure an opponent soon.

ward would win easy no matter what he says..it would be another glorified sparring session and one sided beating

That's why

Robert Garcia >>>>>>>>>> Freddie Roach

You can see the adjustments his new fighters makes after training camp.

Look at how Maidana improved. Can't wait to see the monster John Molina will be.

yes, Garcia gets respect. there are quite a few trainers that are better than Roach. I never really see or hear Roach speaking technical very much. Only about speed and power and such. He obviously is a "good" trainer but certainly there are better. I think James Toney would be a very good trainer with the right pupil.

I have defended Ward in the past and rightfully so I believe. I cannot agree with him on this being a tough fight though and certainly not the best fight that could be made. It would net him another nice payday though and HBO could care less because its a profitable fight if it were to happen.

Terrence Crawford looks like he watched a whole lot of Pernell Whitaker growing up. I was thinking that before the commentators even said it. It was the way he stood in front of Prescott and his foot placement. I recommend he fight at 135 as long as he can though and take fights at 140 if anything big comes up. HBO may have found a nice lil fighter to put stock in.

Yeah I was too, he was referring to Rios though.

Roach stopped doing the right stuff when people started blowing smoke up his arse. Besides a soft chin, Khan's main issue in his losses to Peterson and Garcia is that he lacked simply instruction from Roach.

Don't mix it up, hold (when he was hurt), get back to your boxing etc simple commands like that at various points in bother fights could have saved Khan but instead he let Khan fight how he pleased and then when they split said it was Khan's fault and that Hunter won't be able to change him.

I like to think Buboy Fernandez gives better advice then Freddie. I get a little heated when Roach tells him to be quiet.

Little known fact

Back in the Phillipines when they were little kids, Nonito Doniare's mom payed Buboy to protect her son from bullies. This was right around the same time he was teaching Pacquiao how to fight.

That and it doesn't help that there are really no fights to made at super middle. He ran thru everybody and crushed Dawson. And it really looks bad that Cloud lost. If he wants a payday he has to talk about Chavez and Floyd. Their the bigger draws. No point in saying Martinez. He ain't getting paid fighting him.
