how yall feel about Juan Manuel Marquez facing Tim Bradley in September?
I think Bradley wins in a really sloppy fight and then Marquez asks for 20 million from Pacquiao or retires

Corley has fought.

McCloskey.
Provodnikov.
Dulorme.
Matthysse.
Fedchenko.
Maidana.

in the last 2.5 years. one last run?

granted, it was in their hometowns, but still. hopefully he got some good money outta that.
Who knows - but the thought of Hank Lundy vs Chop Chop would be a good fight I feel

Cunningham now +500 (up from +600 last week)
I probably need to jump in soon before even more money comes in.
Don't do it, NBC cards = fixed decisions. Cunningham who is not known for power would have to stop him....

Alexander Povetkin (25-0, 17 KO) vs. Andrzej Wawrzyk (27-0, 13 KO) heavyweight fight for Povetkin’s WBA “regular” championship was officially announced today during a Moscow press conference. On May 17, boxing fans in Crocus City Hall in Moscow will get another championship event the WBA cruiserweight title fight between Panama’s Guillermo Jones (38-3, 30 KO) and Denis Lebedev (25-1, 19 KO).
:ehh:

WBA interim World featherweight champion Javier “El Abejon” Fortuna (21-0, 15 KOs) initially weighed 127. He returned after approximately two hours and weighed 126.8. Fortuna automatically loses his title on the scale due to not making the 126 pound limit for the featherweight division! Mexico’s Miguel “Mikol” Zamudio (25-1-1, 13 KOs) weighed 125.4. Zamudio will win the title if he wins the fight on Friday night at the Tropicana Casino & Resort in Atlantic City.
130 here he comes...

Wow how dumb am I for thinking he was 130 lbs already?
Well he was until he got the chance to fight for the interim title and he went ahead and dropped the extra couple pounds.....looks like he can't/won't do it again so he'll probably be making a permanent move up to 130

Sucks cause the only money at 130 is Gamboa

If I bet $100 on Cunningham does that mean I get $500 if he wins?

That wouldnt be called luck...that would be called a miracle. Do you know what happens when you get a REAL concussion? You would be lucky if you could even stand up within 10 minutes, much less 10 seconds....possibly followed by vomiting profusely. :stopitslime: it was Berto's fault that Ortiz gave him this "concussion" as you say. must not have been a serious one for him to go 11 more rounds and give Ortiz hell. :udontknow: lucky KD?

I wonder why you guys cant be totally subjective. So Berto was treated at the hospital for a possible concussion (was it confirmed) and a BROKEN HAND. yet you say he was outclassed. :roger: Donaire was outclassed by Rigo. Berto was not outclassed by Ortiz. The fight was close and competitive. There were no lucky KD's on either side but they couldve been prevented.

In fact, who's to say if Ortiz wouldnt have been up on the cards when Berto decked him he wouldnt have packed it in? He was put down from a good shot. Berto wasnt anymore damaged goods after Ortiz than he was before, he was just fighting better opposition. Zaveck is a pretty strong WW and Guerrero is definitely better than Ortiz for Christ's sake. My point is, the Ortiz's KDs were more of a result of what Berto did wrong than some masterful work by Ortiz. If they fight again, I'll be here and we can wager....I'll gladly take Berto to win. He just fought a bad fight stategic wise.

I'd take Ortiz (if it wasn't his first fight back) in a second. I've gotten a real concussion before you don't go cold for 10 minutes and throw up just b/c you get concussed shyt Bradley got one against provo and kept boxing! Berto was consistently getting caught with better cleaner shots more consistently. Just because you disagree with me dont say IDKSAB because you disagree with me. Guerrero was able to slump berto in their first fight and he is nowhere no as strong of a puncher as Ortiz is. I know that Ortiz committed to cardinal sin of boxing, but too deny he was beating the shyt out of Berto is incorrect.

why cant it be his first fight back? if he outclassed him why would he need a tune up? I never had a concussion but every one I have seen, that person didnt have enough equilibrium to stand on their own until after a few minutes had passed. when I said :udontknow: it was in reference to the lucky KD statement. we must have different recollections of the fight.

Ortiz is a stronger puncher than Guerrero but he STILL is not a better fighter. If he was beating the shyt out of Berto, then the same can be said of Berto whipping his ass. What fight did you see that was that lopsided? He got KD twice too and he was getting outboxed at times. the difference in the fight was that he had better short bursts and at times the lead in the rounds that Berto had were erased by some final second flurries cause by him being complacent. Normally FOY candidates are not that lopsided, they are give and take, not as you recollected that took place.

Ortiz is not a better fighter than Berto....if anything they are close to equal. Ortiz was not beating the shyt out of Berto either. If anybody beat the shyt out of Berto it was Guerrero...but in the Ortiz fight, Berto gave nearly as good as he got.

Furthermore, if Guerrero ever fights Ortiz and does him the way he did Berto, no way Ortiz submits himself to 12 rounds of that. He would surely quit cuz the boy aint built like that.

yep, you get a $500 payout. I shouldve jumped in at 600. Fury *should* win but Cunningham is far too good to be a 5-1 underdog.

thanks for the rep!

also, dont take it personal when I said :udontknow: if you didnt, you wouldnt be in here. I just dont believe in too much "luck" in the ring. just using my smilie for extra emphasis when I DONT agree.

how yall feel about Juan Manuel Marquez facing Tim Bradley in September?

this fight has some intrigue, even if it doesnt sound like the most exciting. a younger Marquez would beat Bradley. at this stage, its much more of a pick 'em fight. Bradley will bring great pressure and his conditioning and chin makes him a hard guy to get rid of. Marquez is still one of the best counter punchers to ever lace em up. His timing and boxing skill is impeccable even if he has lost a couple of steps. I think it will be a war and I predict that after this fight, more purists will clamor for a 2nd fight between them rather than a 5th fight with Manny.
