Yeah but goddamn, it's plenty of guys who need to just 'make weight' and their skills will show...capped off at 230-50, guys like Arreola, Fury, Solis and countless others have to put work in or go find another job

Nothing is holding the heavyweight division accountable for not being professional and coming in at least good shape
Start forcing these guys to be in shape and the division might be able to rise to prominence once again.
you make an excellent point also. Hasim Rahman was always better around 225. Tyson was at his best around 217. Holyfield, maybe 212-215. Nearly every heavyweight was better at a lower weight. they put on that weight thinking it would give them an advantage but usually it doesnt unless you have the skills to back it up. John Ruiz even...he couldve been better if he came in at 225 like he did for RJJ. Unless you are over 6'5" you lose your effectiveness going over 240-250. Sam Peter, couldve been better. Too fukkin slow at 260 and didnt have the boxing skill to make up for it.
