Honestly I feel 2022 is too soon. He not only has 2 KNOCKOUT losses in a row, both were in devastating fashion and both led to blood coming out his ears (that cut b.s. from the second fight was obv a lie).

Add on the fact that he's turning 36 soon. Shattered psyche, no more aura of invincibility, and diminished punch resistance. Should take all of next year off and just heal physically. Get his ear checked out for internal damage. Watch his kids grow and await the results of Usyk-Joshua 2 and pray Usyk wins, so then he can just face Joshua in a final showdown. That's his highest payday by a mile at this point. Wilder has nothing left to prove and fights against lesser foes like Ruiz, Chisora or the young guns are unnecessary and won't move the financial needle. It needs to be Joshua and then retirement.

another question is if malik scott is still going to be in that camp or should be

Hope not. :picard:

But he probably will :snoop:

I don't see why he shouldn't be. Wilder didn't change much, but the changes he did make were all due to Scott. Whether Wilder can retain the knowledge or not, Scott is still teaching him the right things and resonating with Wilder. And thats something not even Breland could accomplish (through no fault of his own obv) despite being more experienced. Wilders actually listening to Scott, and Scott's shown to me that's he's cerebral. They always needed more time together and having that will only serve Wilder well.

I forget which knockdown it was but it showed the immediate reaction of the commentators and everyone had a jump out of ur seat reaction except ward, he looked visibly upset… anyone know if ward is a gambling man?

It was the final knockdown. And I heard some ppl saying that b.s. about Ward betting on Wilder...that's pure b.s. Ward never publicly picked a winner anyways but said he felt Fury should be favored. I just think he didn't jump out his seat cuz that's not his demeanor and most importantly because he was being professional. You never saw Lampley, RJJ, Max or Merchant react like that either. I felt Lewis and Kenney kinda showed theyre amateurish when it comes to calling fights.

Wilder is in this weird limbo where is now a high risk low reward fight.

When he had a belt, it made sense to risk getting KO'd to snatch it from him but now he doesnt have much leverage. Ironically his good performance saturday probably decreased the reward even lower because he showed that at 36, bulked up, tired and after suffering a KD, he still had power to KD Fury twice. :picard:

Any fighter in vicinity of a belt or a mando position has no reason to risk it. So I feel he could get a rebound next year againt dudes like Chisora, or Takam who are game no matter what. If he wins then a Ruiz fight would be good.

I still want a AJ fight because Wilder is still a name and though it doesnt taste the same any more now that they both lost twice, these two need to collide.

Wilder fights make money and he is a bigger name than anyone in the division except two guys. He ain't going anywhere until he wants to

Wilder fights make money

Ones with Fury sure :comeon:
Them Ortiz PPVs were mid sales wise, especially considering dude was the modern top American HW
I'm not sure you can build a successful PPV around a beltless Wilder coming off two ass whuppings. Might need to bring him back in a crossroads type inhouse fight across Kownacki
