Actually I don't think Ls mean as much as before especially since the TR vs GBP beef....as long as you aint a boring tough fighter

Rios loses N gets :deadmanny:

Josesito Lopez loses to Canelo N Jesse Vargas ...Maidana loses to Alexander they headlining they own card on Showtime

Peterson jus got ktfo N he still goin be on showtime in sept

Cotto got a bunch of L's N headlines his own shyt

Khan stay getting chances, Berto stay getting chances, a nikka like Rosado looking for title shots of 2 straight Ls

My nikka Chavez jr lost N got more respect then he ever had:salute:

Mickey Ward and Arturo Gatti showed that if you lose but do so in an exciting way then you will continue to get good fights and have a career because all the cable channels care about is being able to put on entertaining fights.
Its why a guy like Tim Bradley was looked at so poorly despite his winning record because he was considered a dull fighter. It remains to be seen if he will continue to attempt to be exciting like he was in his last fight or go back to his safer but less fan friendly style.

So far, I have seen listed as "elite":

-Andre Ward (168)
-Juan Manuel Marquez (140-147), downside of career though
-Manny Pacquiao (140-147), downside of career
-Danny Garcia (140)
-Lucas Matthysse (140)
-Abner Mares (126?)
-Sergio Martinez (160), downside of career

Got Next
-Adrien Broner (130)
-G. Rigondeaux (126-130)
-Nonito Donaire (126-130)

Didnt see Canelo Alvarez (147-154), which is a crime.
Mikey "Angel" Garcia is also a beast on the rise.

So, based off of this, Floyd shouldn't fight anyone other than Alvarez, Pacquiao or JMM. Anything else is a waste.

Also, Andre Ward has No one to fight close to his weight class, except Sergio Martinez. That would be a good fight.

I did not list Canelo because out of the top fighters in their divisions he is one of the furthest away from being elite. If Garcia/Matthysee are one fight from being elite for example...but Canelo....he needs to beat another fighter or two that's better than Trout. He needs a name on his resume...like Martinez or he needs to beat a JCCjr and like caliber opponent. He aint elite in anything but hype right now. I wont shyt on him to the point to say he aint good or wont be elite, he should become an elite fighter if Floyd dont shut him down first. Basically, you have to do more than what he has done to be considered elite in my book. If I didnt list Tim Bradley on Nonito Donaire as elite, I sure as hell aint gonna list Canelo. Should Broner beat Paulie as expected, I would say Canelo is a notch below him in terms of elite.

Yes LM is now managed by sam watson's crew..Richard Scaffer wants and is setting up the fight for september. Golden Boy can't miss a fight like this!

This fight will be there for the next year or 2 one of them will get fed to Floyd first though

Did Showtime/GBP ever release any official PPV numbers for FMJ vs Guerrero?

I have not seen it. The only word I ever read was that it reached 1 mil. Its definitely going to be his lowest since JMM, but still, I think it was worth it for Sho. One thing though, the promoters have to put on better undercards. These fights are rip-offs.

Really, the fans need to speak out by not buying this stuff. Its not all Floyd's fault, its mostly the promoter trying to get off cheap by using Mayweather to sell a fight. Secondly, the network approves the cards the promoters put together.

When DKP had a lot of fighters with belts, they would put on cards with like 4 title fights.

that card was $70. and Black Jesus stated that price point was for those who wanted the fight in HD, which is even worse if you are implying now I am paying $60 to watch this crap on a shytty SD setup.

Right now my list of the 10 current elite boxers would be:

Floyd Mayweather
Witali Klitschko
Vlad Klitschko
Manny Pacquiao (his next fight will illustrate if he is no longer elite)
Andre Ward
Sergio Martinez
Juan Manuel Marquez
Bernard Hopkins
Abner Mares
Nonito Donaire (in the same boat as his countryman Pacquiao)

10 fighters on the cusp of being elite:
Saul Alvarez
Danny Garcia
Lucas Matthysse
Guillermo Rigandeaux
Chris John
Tim Bradley
Austin Trout
Yuriorkis Gamboa
Roman Gonzalez
Adrien Broner

Wasn't Dan Rafael claiming on Twitter it failed to hit 1 mill?

And the crazy thing about that card was that I enjoyed the undercard far more than the main event.

"we" hope it will be there if Garcia doesnt end those hopes. frankly the only reason we are even talking about this is because they are hyping up any and everyone in the 147 lb neighborhood as a FMJ appt. Garcia doesnt stand a chance against Mayweather...but :moneymay: would fukk Matthysse up something terrible.

see, we are boxing fans here...so we will enjoy the undercards. its not enough names to boost buys though. the main object is to sell the fight. and you dont have to have great names on the undercard if you have a bigger name opponent than Guerrero. I prefer the better undercards however.

but hey, it may have failed to reach 1 million. I would be surprised if it did but not shocked.

I never expected that fight to be made anyway. it is too soon for GBP to make that match-up and as bizarre as it sounds, Canelo doesn't really need Floyd at this point in his career because he has other options.

....exactly.

Canelo-Cotto makes as much sense as ANY fight out there right now at ANY weight.

I'm pissed off Trout boring ass was awarded a Canelo match for winning 7 rounds and outworking a fighter he probably outweighed by 20 pounds in the ring...................

excellent list. although I only can list 7 guys in my elite list (not including Floyd), I cant argue with your list at all.

I was happy for Trout. I felt he deserved the fight. It was bigger than that though....it was really about Canelo beating the next guy to him and picking up that belt for extra hype support.
