:wtf: :snoop:

Heavyweight Dereck Chisora’s opponent for his next fight on July 20th at Wembley Arena will be unbeaten Malik Scott. The announcement was made during a press conference Thursday at the Landmark London “Empire Suite.” It was originally announced that Chisora would face unbeaten Deontay Wilder, but after that fight fell through, Scott took up the challenge.
:ehh:

A source has informed Fightnews.com that Panamanian WBA bantamweight super world champion Anselmo Moreno (33-2-1, 12 KOs) could defend his crown against Argentinian Javier “Chispita” Chacon (18-1, 4 KOs) on July 20 in Panama City at a venue to be determined. Chacon is the reigning WBC Latino super flyweight champion and his trainer and brother is former world champion Pablo Chacon. Also mentioned was Colombian William Urina (24-2, 20 KOs).
Him and Shinsuke Yamanaka need to fight ASAP......

true last year showtime really showed their ass with the fights they had last year...shyt if it wasn't for pac-marquez 4 on HBO...the FOTY would have been salido-lopez 2 on showtime no question

and wright vs soliman was the shyt breh :birdman:....soliman fukked winky up and made him abandon the high guard to try to knock him out...that was huge considering i found many of winky's fights a struggle to watch

my intent isnt to say HBO didnt have good action fights but that they market their programming but taking a large name and matching them with smaller names who most of the time are not big threats. the larger name makes big money while taking very little risks. Berto has made millions....Jermain Taylor likewise for fighting C level fighters.

Usually the star/house fighter signs a deal so they get paid very well while the opponent gets peanuts. HBO has to put these fights on to obligate the contracts.

In rare instances, you have a guy who is not very marketable so they need a higher profile opponent, such as when Vernon Forrest fought his first fight under his contract against Mayorga. Got KOed. HBO put on the rematch and he lost again and they yanked the contract.

Showtime has fights where the opponents are more evenly keeled. That damn super-bantam touney was the shyt! Likewise with the Cruiser tourney a few years back. HBO would probably never pay for Mormeck-Bell. Showtime is better for the purist.

Now...moving forward with the GBP relationship and all, Showtime may try and employ the same practices that HBO was good for. I hope not though.

HBO = bigger names, inconsistent fights
Show = smaller names, better fights

man...HBO is VERY strict on opponent approval. they used to reject all of Mosley's opponents...and I forget who it was but I think when Mosley first beat Oscar, he wanted Gatti next and HBO kicked it back....then served Gatti up to Oscar.

"Four titles will be at stake" says Schaefer, "with the Canelo staking the WBC, WBA and Ring junior middleweight titles, and Mayweather putting up the WBA Super title that he won from Miguel Cotto last May."

meaningless mumbo jumbo but if you follow the titles...if Floyd wins he will hold 5 titles simultaneously. WBC and Ring at 147 and WBC, WBA, and Ring at 154.

I've deleted my bookmarks for BScene, WBVA (still keep ESB just in case) cause of this thread. I was against this thread at the start, but it's turned into something great.

The only reason for this is I don't check the thread for a day and see 3 new pages (I do 30 posts a page) and have plenty to catch up on.

So keep it up :blessed::hsh:

I think Ive watched this round 100 times today

Peep Muhammed (white trunks) fighting with one hand. That's pure heart in there :krs:
Matthew Saad Muhammad vs Yaqui Lopez II 1980-07-13 awesome round 8 ( HD ) - YouTube

Saad Muhammad is one of my favorite fighters ever...if there is one fighter whose story deserves to be turned into a movie its this man. Dude ruled the light heavys in the late 70s to the early 80s. Damn near everyone of his defenses were wars. Its a shame I only caught his fights live at the very end of his career when he was shot to pieces losing to bums.

man dis dude such a hype job its utterly ridiculous....:wtf: do yall nikkas see in him that makes him so special???

Couldn't agree more...worse than JCC jr.
Now canelo isn't a bad fighter by any means, he's got good handspeed for his size and above average power (not one shot though) good combination puncher with a good body attack, plus his defense is getting better.
But his obvious flaws footwork stamina some poor technique lack of ring generalship and fighting a fast ATG 20lbs smaller than him is going to make him look bad, pretty bad floyds gonna 9-3 or 10-2 him UD

Saad Muhammad was the first Gatti that I knew, except he was a better fighter. He would be getting his ass kicked half the time and always come back with a shot that would turn a fight around or end it completely. He KOed Jerry Martin and Martin was out cold but still standing upright! I have a Saad Muhammad collection from my days of making my own boxing collections.

you are prob a lil younger than me or started watching a lil later. I was a kid and grew up watching Saad Muhammad (had some brutal KO's), Dwight Qawi, Roger Mayweather, Rocky Lockridge, Johnny Bumphus....all those guys used to come on NBC. ABC had Wide World of Sports and showed some great fights on there too. CBS? Man...CBS had some of the best freaking fights...they showcased a lot of Aaron Pryor. those were the days....when you had boxing on all 3 major networks.

He is a B to B+ level fighter. He is very good but not an A-class fighter by any means. He is going against an A+ fighter in Mayweather.

matthew saad muhammad had some highlight reel KOs (the mwale KO was :wow:)..dude was a Philly fighter through and through....i remember watching some footage of him now..dude is punchy and was living in a homeless shelter :to:..boxing is a brutal sport brehs..i hope he's not still homeless though
@Dapper Dan I'd advise you to stick to watching his 70s and early 80s fights....the fights get uglier to watch after the second time he lost to dwight muhammad qawi...the wars he had during his championship reign caught up to him and it was a steady downward slide after that

@yawn minor update

tickets on stubhub have gone way down lately, down to even a bit below face value which means its not really in demand and if anything the scalpers are panicking a little

theyre already trying to dump some tickets at a discount but all i can find is standing room only at round 25-30$ at 50% off which will get you in the arena and if its half empty you can probably 'let yourself' into some better seats

https://www.scorebig.com/golden-boy-presents-paulie-malignaggi-v-adrien-broner-tickets-6-22-2013

keeping an eye out tho

theres still 3 weeks left so theres gonna be an opportunity to :eat: soon

Good looking out :salute: I'll wait 2 weeks before the fight to decide which seats to purchase
For Floyd:manny:

Canelo should spar Tyner

Lanardo Tyner - YouTube

If he cant handle this C class fighter with a shoulder roll by now he better forget about Floyd and pull out :bryan:

:whoa: Tyner is a legit test for a prospect. Dude won't go down and he's dirty.

Tyner vs Jessie Vargas was :whew:
man dis dude such a hype job its utterly ridiculous....:wtf: do yall nikkas see in him that makes him so special???

Fight night he'll be a light heavyweight, he has power and a mean streak on the inside

With that said Floyd will still win. Floyd is strong for a 147 fighter and he'll avoid most of Canelo's power shot's leading him to tire and getting dat work in the later rounds :steviej::steviej::steviej:
