I try not to lol..he had some really underrated wild brawls with botha and clay bey and took the zero away from lamon brewster..but he had no chin whatsoever...he couldn't leave the crime life alone just like page and now he's back in jail:beli:

exiting fighter. another one of those guys that got severely overhyped after giving Brewster and Clay Bey their first losses, then Oquendo destroyed him. not sure why he was doin the crime thing because he had a lot of fights against big time fighters...such as :mike:

he shouldve earned a couple milly in his career.

speaking of Clay Bey...another super talented guy who couldnt control his weight and didnt have the discipline.

funny, I was watching a lil bit of Clay Bey vs Shufford and Teddy Atlas fighters to watch were...

1. Abdulaev
2. Cintron
3. Campbell
4. D. Williamson
5. Resto

I think all those guys were undefeated at that time, right before Campbell lost to Casamayor.

its always funny when you look over those type of lists...pretty much all of them are done now...at least cintron and campbell picked up belts

i fukked with the second tier heavies of the mid 90s to the early 00s..on a given night they would be involved in entertaining fights..meanwhile damn near every heavy today thats not klitschko or haye is second tier

update on angulo's eye

Article Link - Alfredo Angulo Provides Update on His Eye Injury

Los Angeles, CA - "I want to thank all of my fans for their support in the wake of my eye injury this past weekend. I have undergone various medical examinations which I am glad to report revealed no broken bones. California State Athletic Commission physician Dr. Pearlman Hicks has informed me that I only suffered a contusion and my eye specialist thankfully sees no permanent injury to my eye.

I want to thank all of you for the love and support you have given me the past few days. I would also like to congratulate Erislandy Lara on a great fight. I'm sad that I disappointed all my fans by not giving them an "El Perro" victory as I truly believe I was on the verge of knocking Lara down for the third time and winning the fight. The sharp pain of his thumb in my eye caused me to turn my back out of reflex and I could not see out of my left eye. I accept the decision made by the referee to stop the fight and look forward to getting back in the ring in the future. I will be back to give you a better show in my next fight."

@patscorpio So here is the info on James Page, he served 11 years in jail and popped up at the Ward-Dawson weigh in randomly and no one knew who he was. A local promoter out of Sacramento might have overpaid for him for his comeback fight thinking that they would get Page on TV (ShoBox or ESPN2) in which the main event purses are 10,000 grand and you can promote the bout as a TV affair. Page then nearly knocked out a journeyman in the first 45 seconds and then somehow gassed out by the end of the round and almost got knocked out.

The second round was rinse and repeat finally ending with Page just covering up taking punches and the referee stepping in. I saw him in March at a show in Sacramento and he seemed fine and even asked where he had to go to find my articles and such and expressed interest in training fighters. Ironically, I remember commenting on how nice he was dressed he had some designer shyt on, it just sucks , because essentially that is the rest of his life. Page will probably serve about 13-16 years for this because he is a repeat offender and with the drug abuse and being at 42 years of age, he seemingly wasted what chance he had.

WBO super middleweight champion Robert Stieglitz (44-3, 25 KOs) will defend his title against WBO #10 rated Yuzo Kiyota (23-3-1, 21 KOs) on July 13 at the Energie Verbund-Arena in Dresden, Germany. It will be Stieglitz’ first defense since regaining the title against Arthur Abraham in March. “I want to show the fans strong fights,” said Steiglitz at a press conference to announce the fight. “Yuko Kiyota is an extremely physically strong and aggressive boxer. But my trainer and I have always have a plan. After twelve years, I’ve become ‘Boxer of the Year’ in Germany. So I can be a good role model for all my teammates and some of them can do it too.”

bank robbery....man....its the drugs. that chit nets u zero. :beli:
had he really trained seriously...he couldve somewhat revived his fighting career enough to make a good part time earning and get himself back on track to train fighters. I mean $30-40K per year for a felon aint bad to start. :smh: that this nikka actually couldve made some decent purses had he came with a couple decent showings. At 42, there are plenty of overhyped bums that are looking to put a world champ on their resumes. Some contenders from Russia or Poland would fly him over to knock his ass out....like they do Nate Campbell and them.

:damn: robbin a bank :why:

my cuz did that shyt back in the 80's. got like $75 grand and stashed it. :patrice: at this nikka gettin out da box like 12 years later in the 90's to have $75k waitin on him. :snoop:

if....just IF....Paulie had any punching power....he wouldve had unlimited crossover appeal. He naturally wouldve been a better fighter...but his marketability would be through the roof.

Paulie could have been able to capitalize off of the whole Jersey Shore wave of a few years ago.:ohhh:

capitalize? dude was one of the first notable people on TV with that guido shyt...he used to piss me off back in the day with it...but the mufukka was too slick and fast for nikkas to put hands on him much less knock him out..i took great pleasure in cotto catching up to him and dishing out a 12 round beating on his ass..breaking all types of bones in his face:smugdraper:...now its funny these days I have a lot of respect for him as we're coming to the end of his career lol

Tomasz Adamek’s opponent for the August 3, NBC Sports Network Fight Night card has been confirmed. Adamek, 48-2, 29 KOs, will take on Tony Grano, 20-3-1, 16 KOs, in Grano’s own hometown in a 10-round heavyweight challenge. The number of Tomasz’s legion of loyal Polish boxing fans may well rival the popular Grano’s hometown crowd. One thing is certain, the house will be rocking at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT.

Main Events CEO, Kathy Duva said, “This match up is against two guys that are right in front of each other and can punch, either can go at any time. This promises to be an exciting brawl.”

Headlining the card is a 10-round middleweight contest featuring Brooklyn’s Curtis “Showtime” Stevens, 24-3, 17 KOs against tough Saul Roman, 37-9, 31 KOs of Tijuana, Mexico. In a 10-round cruiserweight battle “Fast” Eddie Chambers, 36-3, 18 KOs, from Philadelphia meets up with South African, Thabiso Mchunu, 12-1, 9 KOs.

SHO had the better fights but it's a damn shame HBO won the ratings. I see a change coming though if SHO continues to deliver the better fights.
