I rather see Stevenson/Cloud anyway. :manny:

nikkas really getting upset cuz they won't get to see Hopkins spoil, clinch, maul, headbutt, rabbit punch, and elbow his way to another uneventful decision :what:

No disrespect, but I'm good.

This will always be Broner's biggest hurdle throughout his career. Dude beats the brakes off damn near everybody they place in front of him and cats will nitpick every aspect about dude. Right now Broner is a shooting star, but eventually shooting stars burn out. That might happen to Broner or it might not, but we all should enjoy the ride for however long it lasts.

Broner's defense is as good as it gets for such an offensive minded fighter. It will never be like Floyd's since he has a different temperament. Floyd wants to win first and look good 2nd. Broner wants to look good first and win 2nd. Floyd is a boxer first. Broner is a puncher first. It's as simple as that. If defense was a scale of 1-10, with Margarito being a 1 and Sweet Pea being a 10, Broner is like a good 7.5. That's well above average.

Does Broner's style need improving? Of course, but who's doesn't. He could have jabbed more against Paulie, but ended up still dominating dude in my eyes. I will admit that I'd like to see him end this year by fighting someone dangerous like a Maidana. LM and Garcia need to fight each other before stepping to Broner. Hell, the Russian cat who beat Guzman late last year is a good lil fight too.

I like Broner and I want to keep liking him...but misplaced media and hype especially in forums like this make it hard. He didnt impress against Paulie as he should have. That was no domination. Paulie won a lot of rounds based on activity alone...and he shouldnt have. Broner won the fight but he didnt dominate Paulie.

As far as him looking good first....he didnt do it against Paulie...it looked like he had trouble with timing due to Paulie's speed. He did do some good body work but why not more?

It will be his own fault for trying to emulate :moneymay: he doesnt have the same tools. speed wise he is not close.

now on the flipside, as I have said all along....suppose he gets with FMS? the sky is the limit for him.

still, people doing too much. too much unwarranted hype. I gives zero fukks about a WBO title unless you took it from a notable opponent. Demarco is a good fighter but not a great one in his own division. Valero smashed him to bits. Demarco was a good impressive win but he is close to gatekeeper status as the two most dangerous opponents he faced he got beat down.

Paulie is a good fighter as well, but also never a great fighter at 140-147. This is the same guy that Cotto mowed down at 140 when both were in their primes. Lost to Diaz once and got stopped by Khan and Hatton. Paulie is a lil better than a gatekeeper himself. He is a high level contender. Belts arent too difficult to come by these days. In fact, Paulie ironically claimed about politically connected fighters when he benefited as well. Ndou picked up a worthless belt and DiBella paid him big bucks to come defend it against his fighter...Paulie.

My point is...its ok to get excited but why go so far overboard? Pretty soon Ring will have him the #2 P4P fighter in the world and he hasnt done anything to warrant such status and probably wont for a while.

@ChocolateGiddyUp

yeah breh....as far as Broner-Garcia....I would favor Broner in a fight that he *should* win. Broner has better tools. At the same time....I wouldnt sleep on Danny, he would be a live dog. A lot of my opinions about Broner changed after the Paulie fight, he showed more vulnerability than I think he should have. I give every fighter a chance to show there worth. When Danny beat Morales...I was like so the fukk what? This kid aint showed me nothing. Then it was Khan, then it was Zab. He is a good lil fighter that I think will be a very solid pro based on the fact that he is a bit better that he looks to the naked eye. He has some substance to him mentally and heart wise that make up for some of the physical skills he lacks.

I think if you are looking for an entertaining fight....everyone would rather see Cloud than B-Hop.

If you are looking for intrigue, B-Hop.

Personally, it doesnt matter to me because I been tellin people since the ref waved off Dawson that B-Hop would do anything to make that match. The Cloud fight is a good fight but if you want legacy...you go for B-Hop.

I dont know if HBO is choosing sides do to the GBP dispute or they feel the Cloud fight would be better for ratings?

We'll just have to agree to disagree on how Broner looked against Paulie.
He dominated dude to me. He didn't dominate him like Hatton did, but he clearly won. I had it 9 rds to 3, but the most I can realistically see it as is 8 rds to 4.

Paulie missed and landed a lot of shyt on elbows, shoulders and forearms. Somehow everybody missed all the pity pat punches that Trout landed on Canelo that backed him up several times during the fight. Paulie throws a bunch of toddler slaps that never bother Broner. Doesn't even outland dude. At least Trout did that...yet nikkas is acting like Broner/Paulie was some close ass fight. :rudy:

I never expected Broner to KO Paulie and look great against him. I didn't even like the fight when it was made. I knew Paulie's only chance of being competitive was throwing a bunch of girl scout shots while running and fighting on the backfoot and that's what I saw happen last Saturday. Broner could have jabbed more and tried to break Paulie down, but he was content at making him look useless while getting smacked around with clean hard shots. Like I said, dude rather look good 1st and win 2nd. Almost cost him his 0 since nikkas can't score or look at fights objectively. The Ponce De Leon fight was actually closer to me.

I even remember Paulie buzzing Cotto late and winning some late rds in that fight. Cotto didn't dominate Paulie at all. That was a good competitive fight that Cotto won clearly. His heavy hands just did more damage to Paulie face than Broner's did.

As for Broner/Garcia, that's a toss up to me, but I'd slightly favor Garcia. He's beaten the better comp. Broner hasn't fought guys as quick or as talented as guys like **** and Zab.

:moneymay: done started something....now a new light is being shone on boxing. Bodybuilding? Everybody dopes. Track? Everybody. Football? a damn good bit. Now people are about to start seeing just how many boxers actually try to gain an advantage.

Funny thing is...it probably wouldnt have gotten to this point had :flabbymanny: decided to take the test.....straight away and not dikking around making excuses about needles and shyt. Then it wouldnt raise so much suspicion when guys just go around knocking out people left and right. Truth is brehs....just like Margarito, there are plenty of cheaters in the sport....they all have different methods of how they go about doing it though.

Huck vs. Arslan Rematch is Likely For October Date - Boxing News
By Alexander Pavlov

WBO cruiserweight champion Marco Huck (36-2-1, 25 KOs) is going to see another familiar face in the fall. On Saturday night in Berlin, he fought Ola Afolabi (19-3-4, 9 KOss) for a thid time and secured a twelve round majority decision. Last November, Huck won a controversial twelve round unanimous decision over Firat Arslan (33-6-2, 21 KOs). According to promoter Wilfried Sauerland of Sauerland Event, the two fighters will be matched against each other in a fall rematch, likely to take place on a date in October.

"The next match with Huck will take place at cruiserweight. We expect that Marco will enter the ring in October against Firat Arslan. This will be a mandatory title defense," Sauerland said.

Dan R. has it for 9/24, Huck cleaning up the division :obama:

He still got Jones, Hernandez, Wlod, Lebedev Rematch, and Troy Ross to contend with...

Broner aint fightin Crawford. FOH. Its like Paulie said...there are guys in gyms all around the world with skills...its the one who is the most connected that gets the opportunity. When LM beats Garcia, he will get props from me....let him win a title first though.

I aint even gonna use a boxing analogy...I will say this...do u know how long it took Luther Vandross to get some shine and how many years he spent singing background??? Labels was like we aint gonna sign this fat greasy nikka. Its about marketability and popularity. No matter how much skills you have, that dont mean you will get your break quicker than someone else.

People wanna see Broner act a damn fool. As far as him being on another level...he aint proved shyt yet. Like I said, I like him and I hope he steps it up but right now its all smoke and mirrors. Dont fall for all the hype that the networks, promoters, and managers put out there....judge by what you see in the ring.

I am putting Broner in the same category as had Jeff Lacy in during his rise...all hyped the fukk up but has yet to face or beat any top competition.
If the crowning achievement of your career is a touch split decision win over feather hands Paulie Malignaggi in the twilight of his career then you really haven't done shyt.
