Seen this at a coffee shop here in San Francisco
Taylor/Essuman in a couple of hours. Taylor has been cooked since the first Catterall fight and I really don't know what to expect from him today. But we know he's going to go out in a blaze.
I really came to post because I'm just glad there are no fights tonight. I'm a huge Tom Cruise and Mission Impossible fan, so I'm going to see Final Reckoning tonight and then go lay my face in my Jewish homegirl's cheeks.

He just came up to 147, so he doesn't have to weight drain himself anymore, so maybe he fights better today, I don't know lol

Muhammad Ali was still very effective in the late 1970s, still had some of his athleticism, reflexes, timing present
It sucks cause I just wish he would have retired in 1978 after he regained his title from Leon Spinks. Would have been the ultimate send off, and I believe he still would have his faculties and would not have gotten the extreme Parkinsons he got later in life

thrilla in manila took a lot out of him...slow decline but was not able to pull the trigger like that....the shavers fight though finished him

Facts. If ever there was an example of a fight that did little to improve your legacy with a win was the Ali vs Shavers fight. Absolutely useless fight that should have never happened

The background graphic was definitely HBO. I don't care what anyone says, I miss HBO Boxing. They were top notch when it came to pre-fight hype and the mini-documentaries before the fight started to give fans a great background to the buildup of the fight
