I'm thinking this Gonzales/Degale fight is going be lowkey good. Brandon is definitely letting them Hunter training sessions soak in. It'd be great to at least see one super middleweight out of that gym be active in the ring this year.

Manny and JMM is 2-2 imo, 1st 2 fights to Manny and 3rd & 4th fight for JMM.
I dont see how anyone can just put Manny as a definite favorite over JMM in their mind (except @Black_Jesus...but he's supposed too because Ima favor AB over anybody regardless too) and not realizing that, in their 4 fight series, JMM is the one with the momentum now......plus he got them game changing 'roids in his system now
More and more I think about it, I dont mind seeing the 5th fight as long as it's the LAST ONE. I hate leaving things off in a draw or even. Officially, it's 2-1-1 in favor of Manny, but I have it 2-2 because that's what it is imo. I can see JMM outboxing Manny and dropping him once or twice to win a close decision. I can also see Manny blitzing him and dominating him like he did in the 4th....except this time, avoiding getting KOd and winning very convincingly.
They're always gonna be a close match. Im leaning towards JMM in the 5th fight, but as the fight gets closer, I can see switching that opinion.
And best believe there will be random testing before the 5th fight(if it happens) unlike Roidquez/Alvarado... which is why I think JMM is so hesitant to fight Pac again
Even though I(and many others) had the 3rd fight a draw, I wont argue against 2-2 in the series.. and this why the 5th fight makes sense. Dont care what anybody says

"Fighter of the Decade" Manny Pacquiao's adviser Michael Koncz says Pacquiao is looking at a possible fight against the extremely popular young Mexican fighter Saul "Canelo" Alvarez next year provided they can come to terms on an acceptable catch-weight like they did when Pacquiao fought Miguel Cotto.
Koncz told BoxingScene.com/Manila Standard "it will be a substitute for a fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr and will be the next biggest fight and may very well rival a Manny-Floyd fight."
He pointed out that Alvarez "is a good fighter, he's young and is the top Mexican fighter and has a big fan base in America" which would certainly make it a lucrative fight with huge pay-per-view numbers.
When Alvarez fought Floyd Mayweather Jr it was the Mexican who drew the crowds during the press tour in various cities and was the fighter who fueled the PPV buys, not Mayweather although the undefeated pound for pound king won a comfortable unanimous twelve round majority decision with judge Cynthia Ross inexplicably scoring the fight a draw.
Koncz told us that he needs to get Manny's approval on the catch-weight for "a fight we'll probably do next year" even as he stressed "we cannot go into the ring if there is no catch-weight. Its too dangerous. We are not trying to get any advantage but just trying to protect the health of Manny."
He said "if Canelo is willing to come to a reasonable catch-weight then it a fight we can entertain."
For the present Koncz and Top Rank promoter Bob Arum are discussing Pacquiao's next fight scheduled for November 22 here in Macau but Koncz said Pacquiao would like to bring the fight date forward to sometime in September.
Koncz said Pacquiao and his family plan to take a vacation to Israel and England in the second week of June and a "final decision will have to wait until he returns from his family vacation."
During his Macau visit, Koncz said he would sit down with Arum but "there won't be any decision. I will go and report to Manny on Monday on he options." He said Arum "has made comments to the media about a fifth fight with Juan Manuel Marquez and Amir Khan Jr."
He said "in the past Arum has never pushed anybody on us. He has given us three or four options and then Manny makes the ultimate decision on what he wants to do.."
The longtime adviser said he is "not so inclined to do a Marquez fight because I don't think the economics will be right. Marquez will expect close to $10 million and I don't think he should be paid more than $5 million. The fight, if it ever happens, should be in America for the pay-per-view."
Koncz reiterated what he told BoxingScene/Manila Standard some time ago and that is that random drug tests by VADA would be "absolutely necessary." BT: Congrats on your win in Montreal! Tell us about the atmosphere out there?
JW: It's a great fight town; a very beautiful city. That was my first time out of the country and I really enjoyed it. I'm not a big partier or nightlife person, but I do like to shop. They had some nice stores and I picked up some nice gear. I got this great Mike Tyson T-shirt in downtown Montreal.
BT: Take us through the fight.
JW: My trainer told me I was in the zone, but I honestly think I could have done better. But when I watched it on YouTube, I realized I was doing some nice work. Listen, I knew Medina's back was up against the wall. I knew he was an 18-0 prospect just a few years ago and he gave Vanes Martirosyan a decent scrap. I took him very serious. You don't go up to Big Bear and hire a new trainer to play around. I knew he hired Abel Sanchez, who is a very good trainer, so I did what I always do. I got up early in the morning and put in the work. My trainer told me I peaked about two weeks before the fight. I had an off day in sparring in the session before I peaked, so I just kept my peak and I went in and did my thing. I established my jab early, I lead, I countered, and I even used his aggression against him and beat him on the ropes. After the 7th round, my trainer told me to open up and get him out of there and I stepped it up and got the job done. I could have went 12 rounds easy. I felt great and I train for 12 now. I also want to give props to Michael Medina. He's a tough kid and he came to fight. He didn't lay down. He took some brutal punishment and he kept pushing.
BT: You usually knock guys out with left hooks, but in this fight, it seemed like your right hand was the weapon of choice.
JW: You know what? I'm really even handed. We practice literally on every punch in the book. I throw them thousands of times a day in the gym. I want people to concentrate on just one thing because I can get it however way I have to.
BT: Were the powers that be impressed with your performance?
JW: My team was happy. I talked to Al [Haymon] right after the fight and he was pleased with my performance. I talked to Stephen Espinoza right after the fight and he was impressed by my performance. So I'm definitely happy about that. My trainer is my toughest critic and he told me that I looked terrific. I have to start my next training camp on June 9th. We want to work on some things and I want to be super ready. No one is sneaking up on me. I heard a couple of opponents names, but I'm not getting into that until something gets signed, but I did hear I will fight on Danny Garcia's undercard, so that's cool. What I will say is I'm looking to fight 3 more times in 2014.
BT: Two potential future opponents, David Lemieux and Jermell Charlo, were also on the same card. What did you think of their performances?
JW: I actually shared a locker room with Charlo and Lemieux's opponent, Fernando Guerrero. I thought Lemieux looked like a beast. He looks like a huge puncher and he's aggressive like Mike Tyson. Guerrero used to be a great amateur. He's older than me, but I remember him from a few years back. Lemieux just got to him and never let him in the fight. You have to know what you're doing to beat Lemieux and you can't be intimidated in the least.
I was rooting for Jermell. I thought Ota was better than he thought. Jermell has a great set of legs, but he may have moved too much. But he likes to move, so you never know. Maybe Ota has good pressure he puts on. I thought it was a good fight. I don't call fights boring because I love boxing. I pick up on things, especially when good fighters fight. I think Jermell did what he had to do. He sort of just got the win. Sometimes it's just like that. And I'm sure Ota will be back against another good fighter. He gave a good account of himself.
BT: You were recently recognized by several outlets as one of the highly-regarded top 10 prospects in the world? How does that make you feel?
JW: Well, honestly, I don't feel I am a prospect anymore. I feel like I am a contender. I appreciate recognition and I'm grateful people are recognizing my work, but I don't get into that. If I lose or have a bad showing, I will go from a prospect to a suspect. I want to be a world champion; that's my goal, to be the undisputed super welterweight champion of the world and rule the division with an iron fist like Terry Norris, Mike McCallum, and Tommy Hearns did.
BT: You recently launched your Philly Fighter clothing line. Can you elaborate on that, as well as anything else you have going on outside the ring?
