I don't see how he earned all this hate.
I will say that some boris out on the island have hated him for shyt in the papers out there, but I have family out there who've met him and said he was nothing but cool and respectful.

im indifferent to cotto and i respect that he's the only fighter out there that's about his business while having the ability to create intriguing fights to watch..that balance..but dude got poor sportsmanship..everytime he's lost its been some salty bullshyt with him...margo, pac, floyd, trout.all bullshyt

No he wouldnt have. Margs is all wrong for Cotto and had Cotto on his bike, again, in the rematch before the ref/doctor stopped the fight. Margs was walking him down and got stopped in the 9th round by a "medical stoppage" even though he wasnt complaining or affected by it. Cotto was saved imo.
It was a good fight and victory for Cotto

Because, he's still hyped up and treated like a legend but since that Clottey fight, he's only 4-3 in his last 7 fights with losses to Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather, and Austin Trout with wins only over Yuri Foreman, an old ass washed up Ricardo Mayorga, a Pacquaio demolished Antonio Margarito, and The Blue Meanie aka Delvin Rodriguez.....not exactly a good group of fighters at that point.

I've always given Cotto his props. I've always said he's done well with the skills he has. People always tried to compare him to Trinidad (which was bullshyt) but when you look at him, he's not great whatsoever at anything, but has still carved out a pretty good career.
I hate Margarito's bytch ass, but I think he woulda beaten him even without the wraps. Margarito's style is all wrong for Cotto. Miguel doesn't have the power to keep Tony off him, and he doesn't have the boxing abilities to keep away from him. Although in the rematch, Cotto fought alot smarter and didn't make the same mistakes he did in the 1st fight which helped him win the 2nd fight/
The Clottey fight is one I always find myself going back and forth on, but I think he narrowly escaped with the W.
I've heard different stories on him personally. I know there's somebody on Boxden that met and sparred with Cotto when that poster was just learning how to box. And that he was very nice to him. But I've also heard from other people who have come in contact with him, he wasn't very nice. I know somebody personally that told me that has met both Trinidad and Cotto, and he said that Trinidad was a great person to be around and was very friendly, but that Cotto wasn't very nice
