don't know about that my nikkka. crawford was bigger, stronger, longer reach than gamboa which benefited him in the fight. not to mention he turned shyt around with body shots switching his stance after the 4th. could mikey do that :manny:

the difference is Crawford's speed and timing. against other fighters and possibly Mikey, Gamboa can stay outside more or dart in and out without getting in a lot of trouble. once he establishes that range then he coasts. he couldnt coast in this fight and he had to try and mount an offense because the body shots were bothering him.

HBO stay having better fights than showtime this year.

Giving us true 50 50s while Haymon over there giving us showcase bum fights

just wish HBO fixed up with their commentary

this is how you become a star. i'm fed up with these up and coming prospects who can't face adversity. they get their first real challenge and completely self implode....talk about going back to the drawing board and shyt. fukk that....this is the drawing board. gamboa was givin crawford that work the first 4 rounds....but crawford stayed composed, dug deeper, and took the necessary risks to come back and whoop gamboa's ass. the technical ability is great, but you also gotta have the ability to bang when it's needed, and crawford showed that he does. he took some hard ass shots to get this victory. this def won't be the last great fight of his career.

Great fight.

Props to Crawford. He's definitely on his way to big things. He started off slow, but really adjusted and took over.

Gotta give Gamboa his props. He came out and was outclassing Crawford early, but the size disadvantaged reared it's ugly head. He's just not a Lightweight. Doesn't belong at 135. But you gotta give him props for his heart. He fought like a warrior. Could've easily played it safe in the 2nd half of the fight and just stayed away from Crawford. But he chose to go head on and fight toe to toe with Crawford, giving us a FOTY worthy match.

Overall, was a great fight. Interested in seeing where both guys go from here
