Do you know the difference between Grants and Reyes'?
yeah, and it aint enough for Maidana to beat Floyd with.

NSAC approved the Reyes gloves, Floyd camp vehemently rejected them. Guess you have more confidence in Floyd than he does:steven:
so now you need Reyes gloves to beat Floyd?
he dont even have a puncher's chance because he not a big puncher. he couldnt stop Broner but hit him with everything but the kitchen sink. Maidana has to catch him with a punch he doesnt see...and thats not likely. or catch him with a GOOD body shot. the gloves dont matter that much unless a fighter is getting hit clean ALOT.
You aint watch the fight didnt you.

UFC head honcho Dana White is big on Ronda Rousey, the mixed martial arts company’s women’s bantamweight champion. Recently he touched on the topic of how Rousey would do in a battle with the best boxer today, Floyd Mayweather.
“I didn’t start the whole ‘Ronda Rousey could beat Floyd Mayweather’ thing. That didn’t start with me. I just supported it and agreed 100 percent,” White said in a video from MMA Junkie/USA Today. “You take a street fight, Ronda wins that fight and hurts him badly. You don an MMA fight, same result. Boxing match? Floyd Mayweather chews her up.
“It’s hard for guys to wrap their brains around that one. Ronda wouldn’t beat him. She’d hurt him badly. She would hurt him badly,” he said. Later, he added: “You think Floyd Mayweather has ever had his feet kicked out from under him. She walks around at 160, 165. At 165 pounds, all her weight coming down on top of him, on the street, on here [a dais], on the carpet, I don’t give a fukk where it is. She’s going to hurt him badly. I’ve seen her throw big dudes and hurt him. … It’s no disrespect to Floyd. It is what it is. Ronda would whoop a lot of dude’s asses, not just Floyd’s.”
Mayweather spoke with a small group of media members on July 14, and when asked about another boxer as a potential opponent, he replied that “Everyone is trying to hit the lotto and fight Floyd Mayweather.”
Another reporter saw an opening and decided to ask Mayweather: “What about Ronda Rousey?”
“I don’t even know who he is,” Mayweather responded.

no, I am not his manager. his team does what they want to do. if he has that kind of power, then expect him to use it. doesnt matter if the gloves are approved. the point is, glove selection doesnt grossly affect the outcome of this type of fight. its different if you have somebody like Randall Bailey against Josesito or somebody....and even that isnt a good example because Bailey hands aint busy enough a lot of times. That's just the way it is nowadays. Floyd choosing gloves, Ward wont fight out of Oakland....etc... This has more to do with leverage than confidence. This is business. I dont think you guys understand.....are these bytchmade tactics? from where we are sitting yeah...but everywhere a person or persons have leverage they will use it. and they dont have to be anywhere close to a boxing ring. this is more about hierarchy.
comparing a 165 pound women to a 165 pound man?

Yes he has the leverage to demand his pitty pat gloves but lets not act like Floyd doesnt know hes potentially staring down the barrel of a Roy v. Tarver II should he let Maidana choose a glove that is both approved by the NSAC and a glove already widely used.
The outcome of this fight is coming down to glove selection and both teams know it. Maidana need to put his balls on the table and stand his ground on that. I could understand compromising and trying to pull it off the first fight, but now its obvious where the spread lies.
Gloves can and will neutralize a punchers KO potential. Floyd obviously knows this and has been using this tactic for quite a few fights now.
