That sounds about right to me. Nobody gave a fukk about Erislandy Lara before that fight and I am sure even less people give a fukk about him now. Around 300k is the default with Canelo right now. Based on his opponent that number can drop a bit or go up significantly.
A barely known Cuban with a weird name is not going to help generate big numbers.

Exactly and its not like Lara has been in a bunch of exciting fights to where casuals would recognize him or that the die hard fans could convince them to take notice.

I'm surprised Lara got as much as he did for that fight considering what he brought to the table.

Sources close to the situation have informed us that it looks like three-division world champion Adrien Broner will likley face jr. welterweight contender Emmanuel Taylor when he makes his return to the ring on September 6. As previously reported by FightHype.com, the bout is still heading to Broner's hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio and the card will feature several up-and-coming local fighters, including bantamweight Rau'Shee Warren and lightweight Robert Easter.

Taylor is coming off of a career-defining victory, surviving a late knockdown to score a 10-round unanimous decision victory over Karim Mayfield this past Friday on ESPN Friday Night Fights. Former welterweight champion Andre Berto and hard-hitting jr. welterweight Lucas Matthysse are also expected to make their return to the ring on the same date, but it's unclear if either will be on Broner's card or fighting in a different venue. That being said, one should not be surprised to see Showtime broadcast a split-venue show on that night.

If I wanted REAL conversation on the piece, I would've posted in here with us so we could digest and break it down since we follow this stuff thoroughly.


I didnt even agree with the article like that, some truths but a lot of hate was in it.....the deadspin article was more valid to me.


Yes, Floyd blows his money on whatever he wants too, but it's HIS money and he's worked hard to earn it. He takes care of his kids and baby mothers (outside of bareknuckle brawling and rabbit punching them)....do we ever hear about child support issues with Floyd? He handles his business in and out of the ring.

Giving back to the black community? He has a roster FULL of black fighters, a black owned boxing gym, and TMT is ran and operated (at least in the public's eye) by black people....plus his dad & uncle is his trainer. His whole CORNER is black except his cutman with all the flag pins on the hat

posting a floyd hate piece in the coliseum is like throwing a steak to a pack of dogs. them muthafukkers will jump up and latch on to that shyt with no regard for anything or each other. turning homies into enemies and shyt. it's hilarious. back on sohh there was nothing I enjoyed more than trolling floyd stans. I mean a lot of the views I actually believed, but I would def go into full blown troll mode at times just to see them go nuts. a lot of these fools have no idea why they do it either. they got that computer chip in their arm when it comes to anything floyd related.

On another note: Miguel Cotto, Andre Ward, Nonito Donaire, Brandon Rios, Deontay Wilder, Marcos Maidana, and Peter Quillen all wear Everlast MX Gloves while Manny Pacquiao, Juan Manuel Marquez, and Amir Khan all wear Cleto Reyes gloves.


Of course there are more, but those are the boxers I know for a fact that wear those particular brand everytime out (at least recently)
