I don't even think it was a matter of Chavez playing around for 11 rounds. He COULDN'T get anything of substance off on Martinez. Like the good nikka Ski Hat already put out good game on, it wasn't until Martinez got sloppy and wanted to go out with a bang in the final round that Chavez was able to truly :eat:. That's more of an indictment on Martinez than any credit due to Chavez.

Forget Chavez's chin. The dude looked like he was 185 lbs. minimum. Of course he's gonna look like he has a strong chin.

The kid got schooled & doesn't deserve a rematch. Not only because he got schooled, but also because why fight against a dude who should be a light heavyweight anyway?

That 12th round was scary tho.

That has got to be one of the GOAT 12th rounds in boxing history. Had Chavez not been bullshytting for 11 rounds he would've won this fight, but at the same time props to Martinez for surviving. If after this loss Chavez doesn't take his career serious he needs to walk away. Canelo and Martinez got my Coli Cash up so :win:

someone needs to drop some uploads. becuz i keep hearing this shyt. i gotta see for myself.

He is good not great? :wtb:

He is not an elite fighter? :what:

Is he on Floyd's level? No, but name an active fighter who is. Martinez is an elite fighter and if he would have took up boxing at a younger age he would be at Floyd's level imo.

Well i guess u gotta point, amongst active fighters he is elite. But compared to other fighters of the past 20 years Id give him a B+. Hes a little sloppy with his style sometimes, not as disciplined as a Floyd mayweather or Bernard Hopkins. Those 2 fighters are the toughest to hit, even now i guarantee Bernard would school Chavez at light heavy. He wouldnt get knocked down once, it'd be just like the Pavlik fight. Like i said before Martinez is an athlete thats very smart at using his athleticism to his advantage. But Mayweather has athleticism plus skills. And he always fights the same way, doesnt take chances

Some of you are delusional. You actually think Chavez could've won cause he hurt Martinez one time? He got out-fukking-classed for 11 rounds. I wish he would've done something earlier cause it would've been a better fight but Martinez is in another league.

Martinez needs to move up and fight Andre Ward or settle for a catch weight. Seems like a more realistic fight to me.

Does anyone else think this makes it easier for Sergio to get the big fights he wants? It makes him look vulnerable, which could work to his advantage.

Also, Max is usually my guy when it comes to boxing, but fukk him for asking about a rematch. He should've asked about Cotto, Canelo, Mayweather, or maybe even Andre Ward. Of course Sergio isn't going to say no to that. He'd love to beat Chavez down again and get an even bigger payday.

No fukking way should there be a rematch, Chavez needs to move up to 168 and challenge Ward...

Martinez/GGG would be dope :obama:

NOW, if Chavez does wanna stay at 160, I say put HIM in against GGG and let's have the FOTY already locked up

Martinez can fight Geale/Pirog/Qullin-N'Kam winner

sergio lucky it wasn't 15 rounds :skip:

people saying that but need to understand if it were 15 rounds. the whole gameplan, training for a fight would be totally different even the pace of the fight would be different.

i don't really see the big deal of sergio fighitng ward. sergio could still make 154 if he wanted, he's a small middleweight anyway. but if they were able to make something happen i'd watch it.
