Id watch a rematch of Chavez vs Martinez why tf not??
It took Chavez 10 rds to stop lookin for the left hook to the body N start throwing straight rights but once he did adjust he was landing in the 11th N 12th rounds
I could see a rematch being closer
Now...do you honestly think Chavez has a shot at winning now that Martinez has already been in the ring with him and dominated him once? Adjustments mid fights do seem to change momentum, but if you're prepared for it next time around...what's left? You honestly think Chavez Jr. is the caliber of fighter that has a plan C?
See Bute-Andrade II
See Williams-Martinez II
A Superior and highly motivated boxer will not regress and the margin between the two will only get wider...
Also consider this...Martinez won, he calls the shots in the negotiations. You think he wouldn't include a clause saying the fighter can't rehydrate above a certain weight knowing Chavez's history? Ring size? Glove weighing? Location? Drug testing?
Any advantage Chavez once held in his career is now gone, null and void against Sergio Gabriel Martinez. He had his shot, and he blew it.
Martinez can sit back and wait for GGG/Geale, Pirog to heal, J'Kam/Quillin while he heals himself
Chavez Jr. has 2 options. Move up to a more comfortable weight. Or...Stay in shape, year round, with no more ballooning up.
^^Which of those options do you think is more plausible and realistic?
Sadly it'll probably be option 3. Continue fighting in Mexico and Texas with no rules or regulations against whomever at 160.
