i remember something about him wanting to be the first mexican 4-weight champ or something, he was officially done with the 3rd pacman fight (unofficially done during the raheem fight), one last hurrah in maidana. even against david diaz is legs were gone, so to continue that long fighting champion-quality fights is still insane

as for garcia dude still doesnt impress me at all. faded morales twice, lucky punch against khan after getting battered. cant wait til he fights someone decent, i dont like him for some reason

garcia prior to him ko'ing khan wasn't exactly lighting the division on fire...he went to the distance with morales in the first fight, campbell, and ****..in fact he barely got by **** if i remember since it was a split decision....now i happen to think garcia is good and he is the man at 140 but until he faces a couple of prime 140 contenders he remains to be seen if he will pan out..its a pity rios vs garcia can't be made..but then there's jmm..that should be his next fight if not against matthysse

He's completely right about Matthyse, how dare you call yourself elite and you couldn't dominate a fighter that has been shot for 10+ years, even Baldomir put on a better showing vs Judah, he's good, but not at Garcia's level

are you ? khan was nowhere near the best at 140 when garcia beat him...lamont peterson had already beaten khan in his previous fight...there's no need to move up if he hasn't cleaned out 140...ko'ing a passed it erik morales after failing to do it in the first fight doesn't warrant a PPV fight with pacquiao or mayweather

as for matthysse..there's a reason why ppl, myself included, think he's still undefeated..he wasn't dominate against zab but he clearly beat him to most of us..same thing with the "loss" to devon..matthysse has an interim wbc title which means garcia will have to face him or be stripped

But Matthysse beat Judah and Alexander but did not get the decisions...Judah fight was close, he was outright robbed against Alexander

Judah ain't shot, just a mental midget as he's always been and fought a horrible style against Khan.

Matthysse is arguably the hardest hitter at 140, beat a very motivated/hungry Olusegun to earn his shot, beat Soto down like he stole something, destroyed veterans like Corley and Harris (though both past their primes...especially Harris, talk about a disappointing career)

Garcia had an incredibly impressive showing against Khan eating those shots and delivering a brutal beatdown in return. He outfought Kendall ****, another mental case, and has victories over vets like Morales and Nate Campbell (both pas their primes...Morales rematch should've never happened)

Matthysse has fought the better comp to this point, and the only reason he doesn't own a worthless belt (sir, you call yourself a boxing fan yet relish these trinkets) is cause these belt holders don't want NONE.

Matthysse would win IMO, Garcia does not bring enough power nor boxing skills to the table that Matthysse has not already seen and his lack of defense would get ya boy potentially KO'd...
