FELIX VERDEJO CLOSE TO RETURNING

According to Top Rank's website, Felix Verdejo has recovered from his August motorcycle accident and will headline an Unimas Solo Boxeo event in Puerto Rico early in 2017. February 3rd in considered a possible date. No further details or opponent's name were provided, except that Verdejo will remain in the lightweight division. Prior to the accident, the 23 year-old Verdejo compiled a 23-0 professional record with 15 KOs, including three quality wins in the first half of 2016. --Scott Shaffer

Kirkland doesn't give himself the best chance to win these kind of fights. Another long lay off into a big fight, with no tune up. Is Anne even training him? They seem to split up for the big fights.
