1- He knows there's a chance he gets stopped
2- Pac would want PED testing & he wants no part of that
I can understand him though...

He fought 3 very close fights with Pac and he NEVER got the decision not even on the third where the consensus was prezty much that he should have win. Then he KO Pac's ass in the 4th and gets what he felt he deserved for years.
I csn totally understand if he doesn't want more Pac fights after that.
Anyway... who really wants to face the same person 5 times

What was your card?:jbhmm:

I want to know what rounds you gave Commey:ufdup:

You have time, you up...you over in Hungary, and I'll provide you the link:birdman:

Easter vs Commey full fight: September 9, 2016

Submit your rounds....please and thank you:smugbiden:

You mad, because you talking and not making any sense....

.....case in point:dead: This is exactly what I mean by you talking and not making any sense:snoop:

I overrate Easter...by saying he's a force at 135:mjlol:

"Let him grown before you shout him out as some example for Verdejo"??????:dahell:

Robert Easter Jr is a CHAMPION in 5 less fights than Verdejo has, AND has beaten better opposition than Verdejo has. :what: what are you even talking about?:dahell:

How can Easter, who has 5 less fights, who already faced and beat better opponents, who already won a Championship, NOT be an example for Verdejo, when Verdejo's OWN TRAINER is saying he's not ready to step up in competition from D+ opponents yet.........and he's 23 fights into his career already:mindblown:

That's how I know you're either mad or know nothing about Verdejo/Easter at all, and you're just posting to post:camby:

:forreal: today aint the day to lazy post to me........I aint had my coffee yet:birdman:

I scored it for Commey 114-113
Easter- 1,4,5,6,7,12
Commey - 2,3,8-11

10-8 round in 8th but there were at least 4 close rounds that could've went either way.

I hear that but that 1st fight Pacquiao was clearly robbed himself. Even with the judges error he still won by more than one point

Why can't Cuban fighters get their shyt together?

I doN't understand

There's some fukkery around almost every one of them. Why is that? Mostly they do bad business decisions, like Gamboa with 50, Rigo with Caribe, Lara has the background but not the style, Ortiz' career was also a mess maybe it will change now with Hearn though. Barthelemy has the backing too with him being a PBC fighter but he just isn't active enough, Dorticos (cw) is yet again with Caribe, Solis was overweight and unprofessional...

Hell, now as I think of it the only exceptions from current Cuban fighters is Sulivan Barrera and Yunieski Gonzalez, Barthelemy too if I'm light hearted but his 2016 inactivity is bad.

So why is that? Why so few Cuban fighters can handle their career normally?

Must be hard adapting once they leave home. No longer under strict regiments, they're also afforded a lot more luxuries than they ever enjoyed in Cuba.

And this is my thing with everyone's card. Commey was losing that 8th round, he was credited with a KD that never occurred, and that false KD makes the cards appear closer than they were.

Even if you personally gave the 8th round to Commey, it would only give him a draw:manny:

I want to see someone show me a card where they actually had Commey winning and for them to drop the 7 rounds they gave to him:patrice:

Verdejo's Trainer Not Happy, Unsure if Title Shot Should Be Next

By Miguel Rivera

Rising Puerto Rican lightweight star Felix 'El Diamante' Verdejo left a bad taste during his return to the ring in the starring role of Top Rank's Solo Boxeo card, which that took place on Friday at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum.

Verdejo defeated - with some difficulties - Nicaraguan Oliver Flores by unanimous decision. The performance drew boos from the local fans in attendance. It's not the first fight where Verdejo put in a lackluster performance.

Verdejo's veteran coach and manager, Ricky Maruqez, is not sure as to whether his pupil, now 23-0 with 15 KO's, is ready to go for the 135-pound world title of the World Boxing Organization ( OMB).

Even with his lackluster performance, Verdejo automatically became the mandatory challenger to the WBO crown, which is currently held by Terry Flanagan of the UK.

"I personally do not have the security [of knowing that he's ready for a title shot]. If I really had to say whether or not he was ready, I would say no," said Marquez to Carlos Narvaez. "In my book, I gave him a letter C [for that performance]. I expected more from his performance. I didn't think that inactivity would affect him so much."

The judges saw Verdejo the winner with scores of 99-91, 96-94 and 98-92. However, it was his opponents who at times seemed closer to sending the Puerto Rican boxer to the canvas in the final rounds.

"He says his breathing was fine. But I did not see that power and explosiveness. We have to sit down and evaluate everything that happened. What worries me is the lack of explosiveness. The shoes also gave him problems. He was slipping a lot and that affected him. Now we have to evaluate the next step," Marquez added.

Verdejo had not fought for more than seven months after suffering a severe motor accident that caused several minor injuries.

"I felt the punches of Flores. He's an uncomfortable left-handed fighter. I missed a lot of blows. But that's just it. I need to keep improving little by little," said Verdejo.

Regarding the boos, the young fighter played down their importance.

"The criticisms will always be. No different than good vibes. The people who support me will always be there. It is part of this work," he said. "I have to continue working with my physical condition and improve."

Ruslan Provodnikov, Victor Postol - Manager Gives Career Updates - Boxing News

Manager Vadim Kornilov is best known for handling the careers of former world champions Ruslan Provodnikov (25-5, 18 KOs) and Victor Postol (28-1, 12 KOs), who both of whom lost their only bouts in 2016. Last week Kornilov said of Provodnikov - who was out-pointed by John Molina on June 11th, 2016 -

"I think he's just enjoying his time in politics, he's in Congress, he's a deputy." "He got more votes than any other deputy when he was getting elected back in September. He's enjoying that but as far as whether he's retired or not, I think it's on the borderline. He's still considering offers." So for the time being he is a politician in his native land in Russia and if he doesn't fight at all in 2017, should he be considered a retired prizefighter? Kornilov state - "If he doesn't fight by the end of the year, I would probably say yes." The manager did add - "We're getting some offers but nothing serious."

As for the Ukrainian-born Postol, who lost WBC title in a unification with WBO champion Terrence Crawford in the headline bout of an HBO Pay-Per-View event last July 23 - "Right now we're just waiting to see what Top Rank will offer us. Top Rank is still involved with Postol as a co-promoter. We've done great business together so far. I'm happy with everything, it's been a great relationship and a great experience and I just want to see what happens next. "I've been waiting for Top Rank to hear if they can get him another fight." - See more at: Ruslan Provodnikov, Victor Postol - Manager Gives Career Updates - Boxing News
