It's a nice story, but it's not the end all be all. But in boxing it seems to be a prerequisite for certain people.

I was talking to a coworker that was putting me on to a gym to go to. His 14 year old cousin goes there and has been taking up boxing. He loves it. He talks about how great it would be to be a boxer. And apparently they told him that it wasn't for him, because he was a good kid that came from a good family that made a decent living. He wasn't poor and from the streets and whatnot.

:mindblown: What kinda silly shyt is that? Idk, it just seems so ignorant to me :snoop:

That's just the way boxing is breh. The sport has too many century old myths to get people to change their way of looking at things. I mean you got nikkas that think you can't increase power or speed, or improve reflexes. They think you gotta be born with it (although everyone's ceiling is different) cats act like you can't build upon what God blessed you with.

As for poor people in boxing being better than their well off counterparts, my trainer explained it to me back when I first started. People feel like a hard poor upbringing full of disappointments, trials, and tribulations will better prepare you to deal with the hardships and rough moments that boxing presents. I see where he and that old way of thinking is coming from, I just don't feel like its the end all determining factor in how good someone can become.

My first day training, fukking coach looked at me like :gucci::mjlol:because he couldn't fathom why this quiet 19 yr old lightskin ponytail keith thurman before keith thurman looking ass nikka wanted to fukking box. Especially since my pops who is much bigger an intimidating looking dropped me off. It's' like he got the idea that somehow my pops raised some soft ass nikka and that he wanted boxing to turn me around. A couple of weeks later he finally realized that I'm just somebody that really loves boxing and nothing would deter me from getting better or training.

Dude pretty much thought I was crazy and that anybody that will do boxing because they love it and not because they have to are a different breed. :manny:

When everything is equal (talent, skill, etc...) I think the love you have for the sport is what really matters. When you love something, that's when you go the extra mile regardless of how you were brought up. Every nikka from the hood ain't super tough and every rich nikka ain't spoiled.
Victor Ortiz didn't grow up rich and that dude quits just about anytime shyt got rough, whereas Sanders had to keep throwing meteorites at Wlad who kept getting up trying to continue.

But if he thought Easter was truly a definite W like you do, I'm sure he would take that opportunity to get another Championship....especially being that Easter is the biggest draw at 135 and has the same management:mjpls:

The fact he isn't even considering that fight at all this year doesn't make you think Easter is thought of by Team Garcia as a little more difficult than you believe:khanhuh:

:umhuh:

#TheBunnyTeam
No not at all.

Floyd never fought Kahn, was it bc he was scared of him breh? Besides over in the #MexicanMafia well take the head off (Broner now an easy W for garcia) then take out Easter.....or get a few more straps n move up.

:mjlol: scared of Robert Easter JR :mjlol:

It's not a joke it's a question. PAC isn't PAC. He's 38, he fights Timothy Bradley once a year, and isn't interested in boxing.

Brook beat Porter more convincingly than Thurman did. An unbeaten Porter at that.

Exposing what? What makes you think PAC can beat brook at this point in time? Are you serious?

Everybody in the boxing community respects Kell Brook. He hits damn hard, he's not easy to hit. He doesn't just have technical skills hes a BIG ww who can punch.

I think you are seriously misinformed on Kell Brook.

Actually, I know about Kell Brook. I know he has; a good jab, very good right hand, good uppercut, good check left hook, okay footwork and good distance.

I also know that he's slow, especially compared to Pac, and hasn't fought anyone at WW close to as good as Pac. Am I serious? Pac is a living legend, he's quick AND fast, a southpaw and hits more accurately than Brook. Who has Brook ever fought that is a sharp shooter?

Furthermore, what did Tim Bradley or Thurman have to do with this? Kell Brook is not a p4p'er he's a top 5 WW who's taken 2 tests and passed one. If he went and beat Pac good for him, I just don't see it happening.

What do you think is Kell's most impressive fight after the Porter fight? Where he displayed a ton of skill? @ChocolateGiddyUp @patscorpio feel free to answer for breh since this dude barely post and y'all dapped him up.

brook has impeccable timing which more than negates his lack of speed. And again he's not slow either.

There's a reason Khan and many other wws want nothing to do with brook. Unfortunately because of his personality he's in a Charley Burley "who needs him" category. He's not even a draw in his own country. Unless you really want to prove you the best ww in the world you don't need to fight Kell Brook. so props to Errol Spence for coming to England taking the fight. I'm not really too aware of American public opinion but to me it looks like Spence is the American brook in that he's too good and not a big enough draw to fight.
Okay so you know boxing, hence the Charley Burley reference, so props there.

So what abt when he fought his 3 garbo mandatory in a row when all of PBC was open? What about after the machete incident? Should have known you were from England prior to this post.

So again what are some fights against top notch competition where Brook looked elite? What about against a guy like Algeri level? Bundu? Collazo? Jessie Vargas? Andre Berto? Brandon Rios? Etc.? I mean literally anyone on a world level besides Porter and triple G?
