Why don't people stay in their divisions, unify and stay at that weight anymore?

I think GGG is trying to do that at middleweight. You don't see people reigning over their divisions for a long time anymore.

I guess there's too much politics and it's hard to unify any division. And people are cutting so much weight they can't physically stay in one division.

I wish the weigh ins were the same day and the commissions had a program in place where they check the fighters weight throughout camp and check their water levels so people aren't dehydrating. There's an MMA organisation that does exactly this. You have to be withing a certain amount of the weight when they check you or they don't let you fight.
