Gamboa could have been great...

It's really a sad thing how his career panned out
when he signed with 50 his career derailed

He was a Welterweight in the ring last night, 145 lbs, but still got dropped and looked :russell: against a tuneup opponent:scust:

He was always a bit chinny so what... He has got a quick recovery tho... Little like Bradley... ot the strongest chin, can be knocked down but recovers quickly

Of course he wasn't impressive, he is a 35 years old dude fighting in a low weightclass where speed usually matter more than power. I don't talk bout current Gamboa I talk about what he could be...

Remember when Juan Manual Lopez vs Gamboa was THE fight?

Arum really dropped the ball on this fight trying to let it "marinate." :snoop:

I'm not even talking about the uppercut, I'm talking about that jab that had him crip walking across the ring. he never recovered from that shyt. it was hard jab but damn....shyt is rare as fukk to see a guy get that stunned off a jab.

That shot was right on the button though. Same shot that hurt Terry Norris below at :26-:30.

Both shots were unexpected & right on the point of the chin which is a terrible spot to get caught on:

I was thinking about this WBSS
how do you think they share that 25M / division. Only thing we know that the winner will get 10M when it's all aid and done

will the quarter finalists earn 1M too?

James DeGale Granted IBF Medical Exception, Return Delayed

By Elliot Foster

James DeGale has been granted a medical exemption and will not fight until the summer.

The IBF super-middleweight champion, who drew with now-former WBC champion Badou Jack in January to keep hold of his crown in a Barclays Center unification showdown, had been set to face his mandatory next.

But the International Boxing Federation’s Championships Chairman Lindsey Tucker told RING on Friday that 31-year-old ‘Chunky’ (23-1-1, 14 KOs) would be excused from coming up against Jose Uzcategui (26-1, 22 KOs) after having an operation on a deviated septum and recovering from shoulder and ear injuries.

The IBF is contemplating whether to allow number one-rated Uzcategui and number three-rated Andre Dirrell (25-2, 16 KOs) to fight for an interim belt.

However, both fighters –– judging by social media and a previous piece by Boxing Scene’s Ben Jacobs –– seem to be under the impression that a fight between them, were it to come to fruition, would be a final eliminator for the right to face DeGale.

Further details will be revealed in due course.

dude really got beat up in that fight huh
