Good boxing has always just been good boxing to me.

Regardless of the venue, promoters, fighter's names, network etc..... If the fight looks good or the names involved are buzzing or got good records, I'll watch. Sometimes the best fights are from no name nikkas. Huck found that out Hell, if boxing is just on, I'll watch it. You don;t have to trick me into watching it by having some name guy fight some career mode nikka to pad his record.

i agree but breh u can not have big named/skilled fighters such as a kkk/don signed under the same roof and not make them fight .

as long as pbc makes the big boys face other big names or underrated guys like gonzalez quarterly every year ....im fine.

I'm sure everyone in here that posts on the regular have seen him fight several times. (I never liked him, Dude is crude as fukk)

But what Im trying to convey to Pat is that, would we have cared if it was Krzysztof Glowacki vs Mairis Briedis being shown in the Main Event on ShoBox with a card filled with unknowns? Would we have tuned in to watch that fight? Most of us...probably not. I know I wouldnt have, because Im not hip to them (prior beating Huck. As of now, I know who Glowacki is, so yeah..I'll watch him now)

Now, if they were the co-main on the Tarver vs Cunningham card, yes I would've watched them because the main event already drew me in. That's how I notice "unknown" fighters, and that's actually what promoters do to build the names of their fighters.

Im just being 100 with it.



Hell, look how many of us never seen Maurico Herrera vs Ruslan Provodnikov when it happened live, because we didnt know who they were.

My biggest gripe with PBC has always been the hit or miss match making. They get the undercards right, but fukk up on the main events.
It's like going out to eat and getting some bomb ass appetizer, but then getting a underwhelming ass entree.

We need more cards like the Swift/Peterson and Cruz/Mares ones where both the main event and undercard were well matched and good.

PBC still does a lot of shyt right though. They just gotta fix that one aspect.

i agree..but im putting it in overall context since im not drinking the PBC kool aid...why would i big up that particular pbc card and not lets say swift-paulie from last month? i would imagine someone who stans PBC would show the same amount of interest like i did in that card breh

Both of ya'll make good points.

Named fighters will always enhance a card and draw more viewers, but my only thing is that, if you're a true boxing fan, you'll prolly watch it anyway (most of the time, especially if you not busy)

I got associates that pretty much only watch whats on HBO/Sho (excluding HBO2/Latino, ShoBox) They give me the whenever I hit them up about a good random card that's showing up on one of the other lesser known channels.

exactly...now i took a look at the PBC cards for the next month and a half or so..on paper with the exception of fonfara vs cleverly (maybe omar vs demarco but only if its at 135)..none of them stand out as being higher quality than your average shobox/sho extreme, hbo boxing after dark, FNF fight, etc etc..and @Newzz was bigging up Breazeale vs Kassi as an example of a higher level fight to make his point.. thats just to me breh

Without #TheRing, I probably wouldnt know as many fighters as I do today. @patscorpio hipped us to Herrera/provodnikov and a couple other fighters, @krackdagawd has done the same for Loma, Felix Diaz, etc, @synistr put Crawford on the map for me, and I can go on & on.


I cant recall the last time I watched a boxing match on TV featuring a card full of matchups featuring people I've never heard of before. That's all Im saying. Somehow, someway, I've been put on to somebody on that card which is why Im watching.

@synistr was right on the ball about t-craw though...thats some insight right there lol...the first time i saw dude i thought he was good but a little forgettable because he was the opener for alvarado-rios 2 and that easily outshone that fight because it was so gotdamn brutal to watch

Breh, I keep saying that's not what I was saying.

I was saying only difference is that we wont be getting random matchups like (unknown C/D fighter vs unknown C/D fighter,) but instead better matchups like (C/D fighter w/name vs C/D fighter w/name) with higher quality fighters appearing on the shows (Danny Garcia, Keith Thurman, Devon Alexander, LSC, Mares, Malignaggi, Collazo)

PBC on ESPN is the replacement for ESPN FNF...not PBC in general

Just like PBC on Fox Sports 1 is the replacement for their fights. I'm not expecting elite fights on those networks and neither should yall, since you never did before when Boxing was on there before PBC


Only difference is that we won't be getting random matchups like James Taylor (12-0) vs Nick Wilson (9-2), but instead better matchups like Dominic Braezeale vs Fred Kassi with higher quality fighters appearing on the shows
