Nobody cares friend. Swift was still seen as "the man" in the division and had PED got the decision he would be seen as the man. It was a great fight but it was because no titles.

#1 Gennady Golovkin fought #13 Milton Nunez for WBA Championship, and even Jeeves cant link me to where any Boxing writer had an issue with that going down

GGG wasn't a Champion at all. GGG was ranked #1 by the WBA and fought the #13 ranked WBA contender with the winner to become WBA Middleweight Champion. That's how he won his Championship...by beating the #13 ranked contender. AB facing a former Champion (1 fight removed from being Champion) who is ranked #5 is disgusting though and bad for Boxing.

For clarification I am not saying they were fans and then became writers. I am saying as writers they appear to embrace their fandom more.

Heck, I believe Dan's story was that he enjoyed boxing, but was not a big fan. He was covering boxing for USA today as one of his first journalism jobs. During a fight blood flew from a fighter after being punched and landed on him and he credits that as the moment he knew he was a boxing fan.

Just saying boxing does have an odd dynamic where a lot of the guys who are the known journalists, do seem to show their fandom a bit more than is prevalent elsewhere.

Maybe I am misreading how I interpret it.

Why would DLH risk Matthysse losing in his 1st defense of the belt to a TR fighter who's much more seasoned than the young/green prospect who's the mandatory or take the prime TR fighter instead of trying to take an easier fight against Cuenca in a unification?

i dont think DLH has any issue throwing fighters into tough fights..thats why we are getting GGG-Lemieux lol

I highly doubt DLH intended to feed Lemieux to GGG off the bat. He was just hit with an offer he couldn't refuse, and said fukk it might as well cash out early
