Did he get screwed against De La Hoya?
Real Talk, Pea/Oscar is one of those fights you gotta see for yourself breh.
Fight was close and it was one of those that really could go either way depending on your scoring preference Personally I felt that Pea needed more offense in that fight. His defense was awesome and he had Oscar looking straight clumsy at times, but defense is only one part of the game. You're not going to get the W against a cash cow with mostly jabs and defense. You gotta let everything go.
Big Sweet Pea fan, but I can't say he got robbed in that one.
Pac/Bradley 1 and Burton/Augustus were actual robberies.

Canelo is getting the same treatment with the bullshyt ass cards...
That's why I was glad he got robbed vs Tito![]()

Payano/Warren 1 was an actual robbery as well
Hopefully Rau'Shee gets that title in about 3 weeks that he should've had the 1st time![]()
this was on bounce I think and a lot people missed out on this one. this was a foty candidate too but I think warren was robbed.
cant wait for the next one. is a date set yet?
I think I had pea winning 7-5 over Oscar.
pea got robbed vs Chavez the biggest though.

Had the day off today, not much to do this morning. So I decided to rewatch this controversial fight, and score it myself
Round 1: 10-9 Whitaker
Round 2: 10-9 DLH
Round 3: 10-8 DLH (Whitaker got a point taken away due to that stupid WBC rule for the accidental headbutt)
Round 4: 10-9 Whitaker
Round 5: 10-9 Whitaker
Round 6: 10-9 Whitaker
Round 7: 10-9 DLH
Round 8: 10-9 DLH
Round 9: 10-8 Whitaker
Round 10: 10-9 Whitaker
Round 11: 10-9 Whitaker
Round 12: 10-9 DLH
Final score: 114-112 Whitaker
Was a close fight, but Sweat Pea edged it, winning most of the rounds IMO. DLH had his moments and hit Pernell with some good hard shots, but had too but ineffective aggression. Throwing 10 punches at once, while only landing 2 or 3. And of course Lampley there sucking him offThank God Merchant and Jones where there to keep him in check for the most part. Pernell's jab wasn't as effective as it usually was. Sweat Pea always had an A1 jab, put this time it seem off, and his punches were wider than usual. Of course this is an older Pernell Whitaker. I think prime Sweat Pea would've had an easier time with DLH (at least this version of Oscar anyways).
I think we should make threads revisiting controversial fights and explain who we think won, posting our own scorecards. I always like to see how other folks judge fights
Funny thing is that even Pernell Whitaker himself said that although he was best at LW, he'd rather face Duran at the higher weight classes because he felt he had a better chance of beating him at 140 or 147 than at 135.Yup! Probably the most complete fighter I've ever seen. He's the only other LW in history I believe that could beat a prime Duran
