You said it yourself, "picture the WBC telling Floyd or Cotto 15 days to make the biggest fight of their lives or being stripped", you right. It wouldn't happen to them, but it happened to Canelo. That should tell you he doesn't have that pull yet that you think he has with them

Canelo has one decisive victory over an elite name (Cotto) and somehow he's this boss tyc00n nikka of boxing.

Take away that win and all he has is a loss to Floyd and a couple razor thin wins over Trout and Lara, followed by a bunch of fights with past prime nikkas like Baldomier and Shane.

nikkas shyt on Swift for having some close wins, but at least he won big against Khan and Matthysse (2 guys in their prime that were favored to beat him)

you know i'm not referring to that. i'm talking about the deadline. imagine broner being given a 2 week deadline to make the biggest/toughest fight of his career. wbc tells him he has 15 days to make it or he vacates. no extensions, no excuses. and broner says fukk it and vacates but says the fight will still happen......you would be in this same thread defending him and you know it. what fights in boxing get made in under 15 days?....canelo or golovkin hasn't signed on to fight anybody else. you keep dwelling on this belt that means absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things. NOBODY will care if a belt is on the line. they just want to see the fight happen.

I'd never defend Broner purposely dropping a belt on his day off breh....for any reason.

It's really a shame, because Canelo has all the tools to beat ggg, SMH.

He wouldn't be the favorite, but he'd be a live dog in that fight. Plus he has ertain attributes that are in his favor (youth, quickness)

He'd prolly also have more power and better stamina if he fought at 160, but he's too busy trying to convince the world that he's some lil nikka that can't fight at 160.

having pull in boxing has shyt to do with resume. you love talking about ratings and drawing power when it comes to AB. canelo's last fight with khan did more ppv's and drew a bigger gate than pacquiao/bradley 3. the ppv also did better than floyd/berto. canelo is the new face of boxing and he's big enough to tell the wbc to kick rocks. with floyd retired, canelo is boxing's biggest draw and you know you can't dispute that.

That's what I mean. They spit in the fans face yet them nikkas was doing million ppv buys each time out. My point is if the boxing fans are not happy with the way boxing is evolving then stop buying ppvs and showing up to the fights. That's the only way to change nikkas not fighting each other.

I see what you saying, but the difference is that those 2 nikkas split up the sport with that shyt. You had a small minority of dudes like me that just wanted to see them fight and then you had nikkas from either side justifying and every lil thing them nikkas did.

Now with GGG and Canelo, the majority of the fans just want them to fight at 160 right now.

The amount of cats calling for them to marinate the fight or duck or do a catchweight or etc.. is a lot smaller.

You cant complain about what the WBC did something to Canelo that they would never do to Floyd or Cotto....then say at the same time he's big enough to tell the WBC to kick rocks when they were threatening him, but wouldn't dare pull such a thing with Floyd or Cotto you acknowledge



He doesn't have that pull with the WBC yet, because he hasn't reached that peak in the sport yet. Longevity in the sport at the top & fighting the best opposition is what Floyd, Manny, and Cotto have...Canelo is just starting his ascension to their stratosphere now.


That's why Canelo was STILL the B-Side to Cotto even though his PPV #'s vs Floyd did better numbers than any Cotto PPV ever and he drew higher ratings on HBO vs Kirkland than any Cotto regular cable matchup as well.

canelo is the biggest draw in the sport now with floyd gone. end of story. floyd was the biggest draw in boxing history and even he agrees. he also said little g hasn't earned his shot vs canelo. so your argument is deaded.


but lets forget that for a minute....like I said....canelo had 15 days to make the fight. what do you suggest he do?....rush the process and keep himself from getting the best deal possible?....it's the biggest fight of his life, but he gotta make a deal in under 2 weeks just appease the boxing purists who pretend they actually give a fukk about the belt.....if the fight is made, NOBODY on here will give two fukks if the belt is on the line or not. if broner was making the biggest fight of his life and the wbc told him you either make that shyt in 2 weeks or drop the belt...no extensions...you'd be in here shytting on the wbc. if broner dropped the belt cause negotiations were gonna go over but still said he wanted the fight, you certainly wouldn't be in here calling him a ducker until EVERYTHING was final. until negotiations were done and broner signed to fight somebody else. but with canelo...nah. he dropped the belt like the wbc required. he said he wants the fight. little g's promoter said negotiations are going great. but you choose to ignore that. you choose to ignore the only man who's in contact with golden boy so you can paint canelo as a ducker. you saying you'd call AB a ducker in the same exact situation is a straight up LIE. you'd give him the benefit of the doubt til the very last second. with canelo's history and you being a real "fan", he deserves the same benefit. that's all i'm saying.
