hey boss what do feel about people saying brook took the fight for a pay day and it wouldn't look as bad if u lose a fight u posed to lose vs a mw instead spence at 147?

I could see people looking at it both ways to be honest.:yeshrug:

I see it both ways, but Brook doesn't look as bad because bigger guys like Canelo, Jacobs, BJS, and Eubanks weren't in a rush to face GGG. Yeah it was a win win for him, but it still took balls and made these others nikkas look bad.

Only way it fukks him up is if that face injury ruins his career, but we wont know until he fights again

Ricky Burns will fight Julius Indongo at the Hydro in April in a unification fight ahead of a possible showcase clash in Las Vegas.

The current WBA light-welterweight title holder will take on the Namibian in Glasgow, with April 8 pencilled in as the date.

Scottish fighters Charlie Flynn and Joe Ham will be included on the undercard as Burns looks to claim the IBF and IBO light-welterweight titles from Indongo.

Burns last entered the ring in October, defeating Kiryl Relikh to defend his WBA super-lightweight title.

The Coatbridge star was reported to be set for a bout against Adrien Broner only for talks to fall through.

A clash between Burns and Manny Pacquiao has also been rumoured. While that might not be imminent promoter Alex Morrison says Las Vegas might await the Scot.

"If successful then hopefully a fight in Vegas awaits Ricky," he said

Exclusive: Golovkin will move up to 168 in 18 months, fluctuate between 168-175 by 2020 - Sanchez

Undefeated star Gennady Golovkin will soon move up to super-middleweight to test the waters before making a more permanent move next year, according to renowned trainer Abel Sanchez.

Many in the sport have been calling for the middleweight king to compete in a higher weight class for some time now due to a lack of real competition at 160 pounds, although Golovkin is adamant about cleaning up before doing so.

Only one title remains out of reach for ‘GGG’ as Billy Joe Saunders continues to elude the hard-hitting Kazakh, whilst the most lucrative contest in the whole of boxing right now would be against Canelo Alvarez.

Due to Mexican super-welterweight title holder wanting more time to fill out at middleweight, Golovkin is forced to hang around fulfilling mandatory duties, something Sanchez previously told WBN the 34 year-old is more than willing to do.

Eventually, Golovkin will jump up the eight pounds necessary to see how his body reacts, but would then have the option of moving back down again before making the switch permanent in around 2018.

‘GGG’ would then have a further option of competing at light-heavyweight as his body ages into 2020, before Sanchez sees 168 and 175 becoming Golovkin’s home in the twilight years of his career.

“I can see him moving up for the right fight at 168 soon, but then moving back down to 160,” Sanchez exclusively told World Boxing News.

“I think then in about 18 months, Golovkin will be fighting and staying at 168. Maybe in 36 months, I can see him stopping and fluctuating between 168 and 175.

“The direction that Tom Loeffler and (managers) the Hermann Brothers take GGG's career will be determined by what’s in the best interest of GGG and boxing. But it will depend on the possible big fights not just talking - but actually getting in the ring.”

Asked whether that initial step up could happen after the Jacobs fight, Sanchez added: “No, when you are a unified champion, it comes with obligations and mandatories, so those need to be satisfied first.”

Donaire Valdez in March :ohhh:

Smoke's birthday in March :gladbron:

Smoke being at Donaire/Valdez :jawalrus:
I don't want to see this fight. Donaire going out on his back. His dad even thinks so, just admitted he felt that 126 was too big for him and that his son's skills are declining. Nonito is going to go out like all warrior fighters.:sadcam:

I am officially sick of any talks about Manny/Crawford. Until this shyt is signed and both dudes are sitting on a dais at a press conference announcing the fight I don't want to hear anything about who wants to be paid what or who will beat who.
The topic is boring as fukk.

True, the boxing gods can be cruel sometimes.:mjcry:

but it is what it is. If Brook didn't take the fight, we'd be in here talking about how Jacobs is still ducking dude and GGG still fighting career mode nikkas. :snoop:

Sometimes bad situations can birth better outcomes than if the bad situation never happened in the first place. :mindblown:

I do though :blessed:

Nonito hard headed enough to take the fight too :wow:

When that first left hook connect's and Nonito gets flashbacks of being bullied as a kid in the phillipines, punched in the eye by Rigo, and axed by Walters, all in one :ahh:
