WBC Reacts To Behavior, Controversial Comments By Angel Garcia

By World Boxing Council

The WBC is extremely concerned with the behavior and actions showcased by Mr. Angel Garcia, who is the trainer of WBC welterweight champion Danny Garcia, during the press conference for the highly anticipated fight between Danny Garcia and Keith Thurman.

The WBC prides itself for its battle against apartheid, in which South Africa was banned from boxing for 19 years, and our constant rejection to any sort of discrimination and abuse of power.

The WBC condemns the foul language, the discriminatory threats, and the very dangerous actions which could have led to a riot and personal injuries during this presentation.

The WBC has no jurisdiction over licensing of trainers, which is a matter that corresponds to the local boxing authorities. However, the WBC Code of Ethics and Constitution, Rules and Regulations, emphatically reject these actions, which cannot be tolerated in our sport.

The WBC respects and has always enjoyed a very respectful relation with Mr. Angel Garcia in the past, and the WBC will hold a meeting in person or by teleconference next week through the WBC administrative process and protocol.

Boxing is a sport of contact, but it is a noble one and fighters are role models for the youth of the world with countless exemplary actions of fair play, respect, unity, humanity and brotherhood.

Garcia vs. Thurman is a very important fight between two undefeated champions, which brings the best of our sport, and the attention must be fully into this great event and the two fighters putting their future on the line.

Badou Jack To DeGale: Let's Do it Again - at Light Heavyweight

BROOKLYN – The No. 1 and No. 2-ranked super middleweights in the world met in a unification to determine the world’s best 168-pound fighter Saturday on SHOWTIME. After two knockdowns and 12 intense, back-and-forth rounds, the distinction as the world’s best super middleweight is still up for grabs.

WBC champion Badou Jack (20-1-3, 12 KOs) and IBF titlist James DeGale (23-1-1, 14 KOs) fought to a 12-round majority draw in the main event of SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING in front of 10,128 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The bout was scored 114-112 (DeGale) and 113-113 twice, and the only clear winner was the sport of boxing and its fans.

Britain’s DeGale, making the third defense of his IBF belt, started the drama by flooring Jack with a jab with 30 seconds left in the first round. But it was back and forth from there in a highly skilled, closely contested battle between the consensus best in the weight class and in the eighth unification bout in division history.

Jack, making his third title defense, was more effective on the inside and more active, throwing 745 total punches vs. DeGale’s 617.

The pivotal moment in the fight occurred when Jack floored DeGale for the first time in his career with a left-right combo punch midway through the 12th and final round. Without the 10-8 round, DeGale would have won a unanimous decision.

“I thought I won the fight. I finished stronger,” Jack said. “His knockdown was a flash knockdown. I won the fight. He was doing a lot of running. He was throwing a lot of sh*t at my guard.

“Let’s do it again at light heavyweight. It’s time to move to light heavyweight.”

DeGale countered: “I’ve got huge respect for this man, but I thought I won that. I landed the cleanest shots. Let’s do it again. Let’s do it again in London.

“He hit me (in the 12th), but I was more off balance. I respect him. He’s a good, all-around fighter. Let’s go again.”

@reservoirdogs how did u learn English a bit.:ohhh: cause im tryna see the best way to learn some ee language for I can watch those old boxing documentaries that's not in english.:francis:
You know for me it's easier cause I had to learn English...

English is everywhere, it's basically a world language, if someone spends enough time on the internet then will eventually learn some...
I learned the basics in elementary and high school, but that was not intensive course or anything like that, I wasn't the best in English hs tbh but after that I started to read more and more English articles, English forums (hence I know lots of slang which my fellow Hungarians not really), hip-hop lyrics (also many sang words).
My everyday English is better than the formal but that's okay, everyday English is more important.

Also I was in the USA once...
I also worked in English in Hungary, on a festival more specifically.

Now learning an EE language can be pretty difficult... There will be many unfamiliar letters for you but here's the thing... I you learn one you can pretty easily learn the others too since they are the part of the same language family: Slavic.

Almost all the Central Asian and Eastern European countries are Slavic. Russia, Ukraine, Slovakia, Serbia, Croatia, etc... There are simply Slavs like Russians and Ukrainians and there are South-Slavs (Balkan people) like Serbia, Croatia or Montenegro.
Some of them use European letters some of them prefers Cyrillic letter like Russians for example (they can still use normal letters though...)
We, Hungarians are not Slavs, we have a pretty unique language really... Just out of us nobody really speaks it in the world :mjlol:
Our closest language relatives are Finnish people but not close relatives, like we don't understand shyt from what they're speaking and vica versa...

If you want to learn an EE language I suggest you Russian cause most of the stuff you will find form Slavic boxing stuff is probably in Russian since they are the biggest country in the region.
Lear the basics on some course then join some Russian forum on the internet, try to understand the topics and posts then join maybe, watch Russian movies and etc.. Pop-cultural things on the internet...

Good luck

im tryna see if there was no rules......like straight up dirty tatics like knee kick, rabbit punches. eye gouging.....etc allowed.
