I hear you. I think its best to mix it up. Boxing is a must. Your hands will be the first thing a dude catches. How effective the art is comes down to the individual/instructor but I feel like boxing is a must.dfdf

I finally watched Easter vs Commey in its entirety but I have a question that i'm sure you can school me on....I thought Commey was lunging a lot with his punches, I guess due to fatigue and being at a reach disadvantage, but why didn't Easter just time em with uppercuts? Commey was leaving himself open and vulnerable to it

I know Stafford works on the ups all the time, so Easter has it in his arsensal....Adrien Broner, Rau'Shee Warren, and Jamel Herring all spam ups on the inside, so I can't really explain that.
He's young though, and Commey was the most explosive/powerful opponent be ever faced, so maybe the aggression had him trying to just land, rather than trying to lure Commey in a trap as Warren or AB would've.
