I like Mikey but imo he is over his head with this one. Thurman is a big welter, who is a good fighter too and has tons of confidence now. No matter how technical of a lightweight Mikey is he wouldn't beat Thurman.
Also I think textbook skills tend to be overrated a little by many. Thurman fights a little awkward he doesn't fight like your everyday walking boxing textbook but I think that's not only a disadvantage but at least that big of an advantage. Opponents can't get properly ready to him and they have to figure him out in the ring. All that while Thurman also has more game plans and more ways he fights.
Not textbook fighters sometimes get shytted on by fighters who fetishize the textbook, amateur style but I think they shouldn't be cause they bring more excitement, diversity in the sport and as I said being unorthodox is at least that big of an advantage than it's a disadvantage.
Thurman has some wide punches, pause. But some critics seem to stuck there without realizing what he's doing well at the same time.
