This nikka still mad. :mjlol:

Of course my mind is made up already. The fight is over. Theres nothing left to discuss. Fight was close, the right guy won. I can see Jacobs getting 6 rds and losing by the knockdown or either guy could have won 7 rds in a either way type of fight.

If anybody has Jacobs or Golovklin winning more than 7 rounds, I just assume that person scored the fight favoring their style preference a little too much, which is happening a lot in boxing these days. I'll see a close competitive fight and then come into the ring and nikkas start throwing around 10-2 type scorecards and shyt while screaming robbery.

Thats just the way it is. I can't change that, but I dont have to respect or agree with it. :manny:

I usually agree with you but I have to disagree there fammo. I thought Jacobs controlled the range & fought at his pace more so than GGG. I also thought GGG wasn't able to impose his will on him enough to get the W. To me it was a close fight but more of a clear W for Jacobs than Ward/KKKovalev even though I had Ward winning that one too

Thats fine breh. We all see shyt differently. I thought GGG controlled the fight more with his jab while Jacobs needed to stand his ground a bit more and get respect. It was a close either guy could win type of fight. If you favor back foot boxing with a low output than you prolly had Jacobs winning. If you prefer come forward boxing behind a hard jab you'll prolly favor GGG, plus he got the knockdown.

Like I said before. I'm cool with nikkas saying Jacobs won. I just can't respect that opinion if you saying he won more than 7 rounds. That tells me you were too biased for what Jacobs was doing or you just hate GGG. I mean I wouldn't be cool with anybody thinking GGG won 8 or 9 rounds either. Neither was that dominant.

I thought Jacobs/GGG was closer than Ward vs Krusher. I thought Kov took that shyt pretty clear.

Canelo vs. Chavez - Movie Theater Information

Cinemas across the U.S. will play host to a Cinco de Mayo weekend mega-fight with a pulse-pounding live broadcast event featuring two of Mexico's finest boxers: "Canelo Álvarez vs. Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr." in a historic showdown that will rival the biggest fights in Mexico's rich boxing history. Two-division world champion Canelo Álvarez (48-1-1, 34 KOs) will square off against former WBC World Middleweight Champion Julio César Chávez, Jr. (50-2-1, 32 KOs) in a 12-round battle.

Presented by Fathom Events, Golden Boy Promotions and HBO Pay Per View, the one-day cinema broadcast is set for Saturday, May 6 at 6:00 p.m. PT / 7:00 p.m. MT / 8:00 p.m. CT / 9:00 p.m. ET, live from the sold-out T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. In addition to catching all the in-ring action up close and personal, event attendees will receive an exclusive commemorative fight mini-poster. Fighters for the undercard bouts will be announced shortly.

Tickets for "Canelo Álvarez vs. Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr." can be purchased beginning Friday, April 7, 2017 online by visiting www.FathomEvents.com or at participating theater box offices. Fans throughout the U.S. will be able to enjoy the event in select movie theaters through Fathom's Digital Broadcast Network (DBN). A complete list of theater locations will be available April 7 on the Fathom Event's website (theaters and participants are subject to change).

On May 5, 2016, Álvarez celebrated T-Mobile Arena's first boxing event with a knockout of Amir "King" Khan. Álvarez last fought on September 17, 2016, knocking out the previously undefeated WBO junior middleweight champion Liam Smith. Chávez, Jr. was last in action on December 10, 2016, when he secured a unanimous decision victory over highly-regarded German fighter Dominik Britsch.

Álvarez says, "Julio César Chávez, Sr. is one of the best, if not the best fighter in history. I grew up watching him and learned a lot from him, but that won't have any influence when I fight his son... I want to remind you that when two Mexican fighters face-off, a spectacular show is guaranteed, and I can assure you that May 6 will be no exception."

"This is going to be a tough fight. Every fight is important, and this one especially because it is between two Mexicans fighting each other for the glory," Julio César Chávez, Jr. said. "I'm going to win, but my country will too, because this is the fight that boxing needs."

Oscar De La Hoya, Chairman and CEO of Golden Boy Promotions said, "Mexican boxing is the best, and when you have these two top boxers who want to give the best to the fans, we couldn't pass it up. Canelo, the biggest boxing star, will take on not only a former world champion in Julio César Chávez, Jr., but the son of the biggest star in the history of boxing in Mexico."

"There's nothing like seeing these warriors - Canelo Álvarez and Julio César Chávez, Jr. - do battle, larger than life, on the big screen," John Rubey, CEO of Fathom Events said. "It's like having a real ring-side experience in your local cinema surrounded by other fans!"

that's not that good... I mean that 17k difference is probably due to Jacobs being simply a more attractive opponent/matchup than Lemieux was so that mean that HBO during that one and a half year period between the two fights couldn't really raise Golovkin's profile/awareness.
Interesting though... As much as they stand behind him and as much as the media and the average fans seem to like him...
two consequences from this imo...

1: PPV really is a dying concept and they should just let it go
2: Golovkin probably hit his ceiling already
Agree mostly. However I do think a 10% most likely had to do with Jacobs being a better opponents than Lemieux, maybe possibly a little due to some fan interest in wanting a Canelo-GGG fight.
Totally agree with you in that PPV is a hurting market. It certainly can still be successful, but isn't being used to its best now. HBO's budget cuts continue to bite them, this fight shouldn't be on PPV, but it is what we get with HBO being cheap.
That said, 160-170k was the number they were shooting for, so in general I would say it was adequately successful for the promoters...but per my paragraph above, the fans should have been able to see it on regular HBO.
As I have long said, PPV at this current moment is about matchups and big fighters. There could be two successful PPV's this year...Canelo-JCC should do well. Both are popular fighters and Canelo currently is the PPV mediums most successful fighter. Then if they come to an agreement (outside of Mayweather-McGregor) I think GGG-Canelo would be another very successful PPV and do very good numbers.
Both those matchups have big name fighters and good matchups. Hence why a Broner vs. Pacquiao fight will sell better than Crawford vs. Pacquiao.

Yall spend too much time arguing SCORES and SCORECARDS....who cares about a "score":camby: All that matters is if the right guy's hand was raised.............and to many of the 170,000 people who bought the PPV ( This guy has back to back flops on PPV :heh:) the wrong guy had his hand raised. Period.:manny:

I seen Jacobs win, as well as the majority of people who watched that fight...including many others who literally Professionally Box for a living & Trainers. :yeshrug:

Yes, the judges went with GGG, so officially he won and that will always be the result in the history books, but the fact remains the result was booed while it was being read and it's a must run-back type of fight.:manny:

And the reason nobody brings up Roman Gonzalez being robbed is point blank because we don't care. Nobody cares about them miniature Boxers, like I told yall before, so the result of his fight is whatever:yeshrug:

GGG lost in the eyes of the public, but won officially. It is what it is. He's basically walking around with a Timothy Bradley win over Pacquiao right now and a rematch is needed:manny:

They trying to get out of the GGG fight and the DLH "you better not fight in June:ufdup:" statement is the perfect way to make it seem that BJS REALLY wanted to face GGG by offering a contract (with a 10 day window to sign it:mjlol:), but GGG turned him down:heh:
They ain't gonna fight BJS in June and risk the Nelo lottery.

Then again :francis:
