We had a chance to catch up with Kenny Porter regarding his thoughts on the win.
"Well I've known Andre since the amateurs. I like him a lot actually. When you get into this sport, you acknowledge the fact that you will be in the opposite corner of people you like. It's just that, with the type of training methods we do, not too many can deal with Shawn. Initially when we came down to Vegas, Shawn met a girl at church. A very pretty girl you know? I'm like okay Shawn, I see you. I see that she could potentially be a distraction. So I went and had a conversation with her. Let's fast forward. We were studying footage of Paulie against Zab. Around the third round, the screen went black for a second. The video resumed and it was me having sex with this very pretty girl. Shawn was very upset. In fact, he was upset with me the entire training camp. You can't argue with the results though. He channeled that anger and had a breakthrough performance against Paulie. So we do different things in camp and no one trains the way we do."
