I'm calling it now. Broner is going to have problems with Paulie. Just because the experience and the weight.

and you may be right. I dont doubt it. I dont think it is as easy as people make it out to be. I do think Broner will stop Paulie though. Broner is good, but he is carefully matched too. THis is something I never denied.

Tim Bradley Media Day Workout - YouTube
check this out when Hearns tells timmy to change the way he's throwing and the difference it makes
wish dude didnt forget about this

this is what I am telling yall...lol. you guys saying that punching power changes with weight...its relative to who is punching.

a guy who is a light puncher at 140 is not going to hit any harder at 147...same thing with a hard puncher at 140.

you know why? because punching is about TECHNIQUE.

a good puncher at one weight can be a good puncher at any weight. This is why Floyd and Manny have pretty much maintained the same level of power while moving up, due to accuracy and technique.

Hearns couldve KOed Heavyweights because that right hand was lethal. but its how Manny Steward taught him how to throw it. FULL EXTENSION and TURN IT OVER at the VERY END. If that right landed it was nothing short of catastrophic.

Its case by case. Power is relative to who is throwing the punches. Tell Pac who won a title at Flyweight that punches dont have the same effect moving up. It depends on HOW ACCURATE a puncher you are. Floyd has never been a big puncher, but its his accuracy. Broner is an accurate puncher....I could care less about his power. Thats what I am saying. Broner is world class too breh, and he is more than power. Accuracy means a lot more than power. Bradley dont have much power because he dont turn his punches over, him, Alexander, Pascal, etc...they all still fight amateur style. I will say this though, Bradley was landing some hellacious body shots and thats really why he won the fight...that and his jab.

He has world class talent that's for sure. I personally have to see more. I like what I see but I just need more from him. This Paulie fight is going to help him believe it or not. Paulie isn't going to stand there and trade.

And yes for the life of me I just don't understand why they don't turn there punches over. It irks the shyt out of me homie.

Taking punches from a week is different from taking 1 from a light weight. You will see.

I agree with you in a way, but its relative too...if Broner walks around at a higher weight and has to shrink down then he will take punches better at a higher weight. Also...Paulie is a lil better puncher now than he was earlier in his career because he sits down on his punches more. Broner will feel the punches....but still Paulie doesnt crack hard enough to truly threaten Broner who will be spitting more fire back.

bad habits. if Chad Dawson wasnt such a fragile and emotional guy mentally he would be the best. He lives off athleticism, but he is technically flawed. It just takes someone to get past his athleticism to exploit his flaws, like Ward did. IF he would get a good trainer and learn he would be better. Like when he had Manny Steward (RIP). Mustapha Muhammad was a good trainer too. These guys get lazy and they dont focus.

another thing to note is, hand size is a big factor. some of the hardest punchers have huge hands. Roy Jones has big hands for a guy of his frame.

You would have a point if he was fighting someone with power and not feather fisted like Paulie. Don't worry you will see Broner will take him to school.

I like Broner, and I feel one day he will be near the top. He has that much talent. It wont come without careful matchmaking though. Blame HBO, because they have to manufacture a new star....and Haymon is usually their biggest material supplier.

I know it sounds crazy but I wouldnt totally discount Paulie's ability to get Broner's attention, especially to the body. I dont feel Paulie has enough power to threaten Broner for an entire fight. I do believe he has more pop than people give him credit for, especially being that he has to stand flat and cant dance around all day anymore.

So Alvarado was stabbed in the face leading up to this fight and had trouble finding sparring partners because of his out of the ring antics? Anyone heard about this?
